Yay my NOA arrived today, dated May 6 which is 2 days after they received my application - and all the information is correct.

Got my finger prints taken today.. Hopefully Interview letter follows soon.

How did that go? Were there a lot of people there? Did they give you any study books or info for the interview? Sorry about the questions, just curious :blush: I hope your interview letter comes soon as well!

Hi MsAnn

Fingerprints went fine... There were probably 2-3 people ahead of us.. Showed up at 1300 and was out of there by 1330.

They did not have any study guides there but said I could find them on uscis.gov(like I did not know that:)

Atleast they did not smear some ink on my fingers/hands like they did back in 2001 during GC finger printing.

Received my Interview letter.. WOOHOO!!! It's on July 2 at 9 AM!!! am I gonna set some type of record for miami timelines? lol [

that is awesome, there are so many people in the March group that still have not received anything, good for you! I am hoping to get the interview letter sometime this week or maybe at least in the upcoming week. It is interesting to see how different the timelines are depending on where people live. From what I am seeing I am just glad I am not in New York or New Jersey, they seem to ne superduper slow there. Hopefully CA will work faster...

Thanks, I know its nuts, I have learned in following this process that a timeline is just for fun there is no way to predict, the only real way to gauge your timeline is by finding someone being serviced by the same exact office as you I think....

I mean Cookiee from the march filers sent her in 3/23/09 and still hasn't gotten her interview ( hopefully soon cookiee!!). Same City but she's in a different local office than I am. I believe she is in one of the new "green" offices in Miami as well, however I have a feeling that the one I am at is one of the least busiest in the city due to it being the southernmost office that services The Keys / Monroe County. I could be all wrong, but I think it also helps that it's a new office, alot of the people working there are new employees and not transfers from the people I spoke to there so you know how it is.... New Job, still have that spark to do well and be quick and efficient, 2 years later they become your usual USCIS drone who doesn't like their job it seems ( I guess that goes for alot of jobs though so ya can't completely blame em') ;\....

Now my hope is that the local office (Kendall Field Office) does same-day oath ceremonies. I forgot to ask, and am not gonna schedule an INFOPASS just to ask but I remember seeing "Oath Ceremony Hall" or something to that effect while I was there.... That would be kick ####!

They request you bring all passports from all countries you may have to the Interview. What do they do with them? Simply look at them?

I would think so. Or at least hope so. Passports and driver's licenses are always the property of the country that issued them, so the US Gov cannot take them from you.

I have heard stories of the DMV insisting that LPR's surrender their foreign countries driver's license before being issued one from the state in which they received the new US state license. While I did have to surrender my NC license for an FL license when we moved, I just had to show my Irish driver's license (in NC prior to being issued a US license for the first time). The DMV looked at it and returned it. Hopefully USCIS will do the same with my Irish passport.

That was my understanding as well, so I guess that should be the case, thanks for confirming! :thumbs:

Got my finger prints taken today.. Hopefully Interview letter follows soon.

How did that go? Were there a lot of people there? Did they give you any study books or info for the interview? Sorry about the questions, just curious :blush: I hope your interview letter comes soon as well!

Since you also have bio at the Portland office I thought I will share my experience with you, my biometrics was on 5/9 at 8AM. I was there a few minutes before 8AM, and got token#1, my finger printing was completed and I was out of the office in less than 10 minutes. I was given a booklet for the interview, I assume those are questions/study materials, I haven't got around opening it yet to see what all it contains. From what I have read on these forums we have one of the fastest biometric offices so your bio should be as easy as mine.

Well Ms Ann. Hopefully your appointment is early? Sounds like he got there when it opened at 8 AM, getting token 1, so no wait... A friend of mine was also first there when it opened and was out in 10, I had a 2 PM appointment and it took an hour and a half .... Just a warning if your appointment is mid day...

**Edit I saw your timeline it says 8 AM appointment ;P Lucky you!

My biometrics walk-in attempt this morning was successful, although i had to wait for an hour for my turn :)

I came in at around 8:20 am and was told that it's a pretty busy day so they do not encourage walk-ins. I was willing to take my chances, so I filled out the application and waited patiently. The security guard waited until there's absolutely no one waiting in line before he let me take a number. I guess that's just fair :) I got what I came there for, so no complaints :)
