My husband has his interview on April 30. I won't be attending the interview, but I have been assembling what I have saved here to prove our relationship, we intend for him to take:

-letters I have sent and package receipts from my packages to him

-the wedding album with over 300 pictures of us, our friends and my family from the wedding ceremonies and reception

I plan to send

-receipts from sending letters and packages from 2007-2009

-my diary of my trip the first year we met

-emails & chat logs of which there are so many in lots of different places. Ive used several computers so all yahoo logs are scattered.

You will not be allowed to bring electronic media (CDs, DVDs, etc.) into the consulate.

Print out as many e-mails & chats as you can. Produce as many photos as you can.

Phone cards (or records of their having been purchased) prove nothing unless there are printable records to show what numbers were called, along with day/time/duration of call.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You want to submit evidence of things one normally does as a married couple. Did you file your 2008 taxes as married? Are there any joint accounts (bank, credit, other)? Insurance policies listing each other as spouse, etc.

My wife Huining in China just had her CR-1 consulate interview on March 16th. They were extremely rude, ignored plethora of evidence and asked her obscure questions on trivia. She was rejected in 10 minutes and they didn't even browse the pictures until AFTER giving her the white rejection notice. I think she was railroaded. This was at the Guangzhou office. Anyone know what to do?

We are both devastated by this and have no idea if we will ever be together here in the USA. :crying:

Sounds like a typical interview in Ecuador if the U.S. half is not present... you can PM the member "pushbrk" on here for insights on dealing with Guangzhou.

The good, or bad, thing about this part of the process is that it is completely subjective. You need to convince a person that does not know you, in about 30 seconds or less, that you have a legitimate marriage and not one for the purpose of circumventing immigration laws. So, the more the merrier, I say. I would say "bring it all and let them sort it out". I went to our interview with a box full of stuff and they ended up looking at FOUR pictures and nothing else. The next CO may have wanted to see it all. It is not a judgement you or I can make. Look at it this way, it is your future, a rejection would be a major bummer. Bring anything you have.

One question is why your yahoo logs would be scattered. I use yahoo, I emailed from several computers but all my emails were in one yahoo account accessible from any computer. I went to the library to print out all of ours as their printer is so much faster.
