I just registered yesterday, but this site has already helped more than I can say. I held off registerting until I filed the I-129F and that was mailed yesterday. If it weren't for VJ, I would be absolutely clueless and would receiving RFEs by the boat-load in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully, RFEs will be few or none, thanks to you.

Quick question: I see some entries on timeline that state NOA1, then followed by NOA1 harcopy received. Was the date of the NOA1 entered after the hardcopy receipt, or is there a way to know if the NOA1 is done prior to that receipt in the mail? I don't have an application receipt number and won't (I assume) until I get it in the mail. Or is there another way to track this through UCIS?

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

Once you receive your hard copy NOA1 document in the mail. you will notice the actual date is earlier, since they processed it and then mailed it.

Then you can create a login on the USCIS website and enter in your number from the document and have email updates sent to you and/or log on and look for any updates (touches) on the USCIS website.

Obviously you can't log on in the beginning since you don't know your case number.

03/12/09 - Received from mail Employment Authorization Card and Parole Document

03/13/09 - Applied for SSN

03/27/09 - Receiced the SSN Card in the mail

04/15/09 - First Interview Appearance

- First Interview was cancelled

05/15/09 - Second Interview Appearance - Approved on the spot the USCIS officer had my passport stamped

06/01/09 - Approval Notice - Immigrant Petition for Relative (Wife) - 1-130

06/01/09 - Welcome Notice and Approval of AOS Application

06/30/09 - Received Green Card in the mail

Thanks to everyone for the welcome, and to Baron555 for the info. This site is great. It's like a 12-step program for folks born in the wrong country.

To Tessa in NJ: I'm not the best one to answer this, but I believe you can just click "add new topic" at the bottom of the screen of the post you're viewing and go from there. Would be sure the post you're viewing is in the correct subject/catgegory first. Hope I'm right and that it helps!
