Will IMBRA actually make the whole process fast?

So IMBRA states that you will have to go through alot of questioning and paper work if you were convicted or have applied for two people in past to bring as fiance(e) or spouse. That means those to whome this would apply will be reluctant to file or seek legal help and that means USCIS will have less cases to deal with. And even if everyone applies, they will have to clear USCIS phase first, that means cases sent to NVC will be less. That also may make the process fast. May be its just another way to tell myself that good things lie ahead. I don't mean to celeberate the problems that people will go through because of their background of number of applications they filed, but why would you wanna bring three aliens here as your fiance? USCIS is right to ask, "Dont you find anyone local?????" so if u have filed for two people before, now get a vaiwer.

That's some logic. But the government doesn't do things logically, or even predictably. The process has changed because of IMBRA, and that slows everything down, at least for now. People with evil intent will always find ways to bring people to the States, either as CR-1 spouses, or on work visas, or who knows? Bad apples always make it hell for the good folks, and that's about the only thing you can count on.

"Will IMBRA actually make the whole process fast?"

No, not at this time. That's why sites like VJ are so helpful in the process of educating oneself. Hopefully, after this initial road block thrown in, the process will be smoother, but I highly doubt it. As for the volume of people applying for K1 applications with USCIS, IMBRA will most likely have no affect at all on this mainly due to the lack of PR and understanding about the law anyway. Not to mention the huge amounts of other types of cases USCIS deals with everyday.

No one received any information about IMBRA directly from USCIS. People in Vermont have started to get online case updates and emails indicating their RFEs are being sent. No one in CA has gotten this so far. Hopefully, the other service centers will start mailing out RFEs this week and process according to the original NOA1 order.

Actually, this IMBRA slowed down all I-129F for K-3 at this time. But who knows what will happen in future.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
