I called the Customer service people this morning and asked them to put in a request to expedite my EAD. The CS lady read from the script asking if it was "severe financial loss to company, etc". I said yes. And she went ahead and put in a service request for me. Now I will just have to wait and see what happens.

You have to love USCIS... I received my GC in the mail on Monday of last week as you all know (which is great) but then I received my EAD in the mail yesterday

Clearly there is no communication between offices there... no point in sending the EAD once the GC has been approved :)

Yes, it is very unusual but unfortunately happens. You can keep it as a souvenir:)

You are right that there is no coordination and/or communication among USCIS offices,

every office does something different.

I will still update your date just to give an example to newbies.

Take Care !.....

She is leaving tomorrow for a short visit home to Canada. Got an important question regarding her passport situation.

Currently, she has one in her maiden name and while she is home, she intends to get one in her married name. According to Canadian passport rules,

you have to surrender your old one before they will give you the new one. Her old one (maiden name) has the I-94 and K-1 Visa inside.

We need both these documents for our interview on June 1st. Can we simply remove those pages with them attached or what should we do? Please help asap.

Don't mess with the old passport, leave it as it is until the interview. After the interview,

she will get GC then on next trip to Canada, she can change her passport to new one (With the new last name).

You can not just tear the pages from old passport & put those pages in the new passport !...

Take Care !....
