Both my wife's EAD and AOS case status have finally been accepted online. Guess the biometrics appt is what is the key :)

I can only see my AOS case still and my biometrics were on March 3rd. It's driving me nuts because it's the AP I'm most concerned about at the moment. I'm really hoping to get back to Bermuda for Dad's wedding mid-May.

Just checked today and it says they transferred my case to California Service Center for processing.

I can now see my I-485 status on the USCIS website (can't see the I-765 one yet though), and it says my case was also transferred to the CSC (yesterday). I haven't received the notice in the mail yet though, but I did get my biometrics appointment date in the mail today :)

Everything I'm reading about being transferred to CSC means no interview (which is great)... but I'm shocked that it has been transferred to CSC this quickly. If the general approval for GC once transferred to CSC is 3 months, then that is fantastic. I still find it hard to believe that it could happen so quickly, but I'm hopeful anyway :)

Having used the USCIS case status for the K-1, it all looks familiar, but I have one question. When your mention that your case has been transferred, is that

going to show under the "Case status:" bullet on the portfolio page? Just wondering where to look if/when that happens. Thanks.

You have to click on the receipt number after logging in to see that the case was transferred.

Waiting for my NOA's and check to be cash..sigh

Hi there Feb AOS Filers...

My fiance is from Indonesia and was granted her K-1 in January 2009. Early this month she arrived in the US and we were married on the 26th of February. I have read through the Forum on preparing the AOS paperwork, and have downloaded the forms from the USCIS website. However, after filling out the I-485 I still have a few questions:

Q1: On form I-485, do I put my fiance's new married name in Part 1; specifically, if my last name is Smith, Do I put her "Family Name" as Smith, and "Given Name" as her first Name (Keke)?

Q2: After getting married, we applied for a social security number with the local Social Security office. Do I need to wait until we receive this number before we submit the I-485 and other AOS paperwork?

-Thanks

Hi, you should put "Smith" as her last name in all the forms since she is married to you already. Besides, this is the name that will be printed in her work Employment Authorization Document (I-765 EAD) (that is if she's going to apply for one), and on her green card eventually. Yes her given name is her first name, while she can use her maiden name as her middle name. As for your second question, the Social Security office will advise you to wait for USCIS documentation before they could issue her a SSN. In my case, I applied for I-765 (Employment Authorization Document) concurrently with I-485.. Once USCIS issues my EAD, I can then apply for a SSN and a driver's license or State ID.

Hope this helps.

Have a good one. :-)

yes me too,no news either...coz i'm expecting an RFE( just being paranoid i think..lol) coz of the ITR,we submitted the year 2007 only, his way over to the poverty line though but i read in here that some got an RFE for the 2008 ITR,but anyways his accountant called him already and it's done...so if ever we got an RFE for that 'im ready to mail it..Lol..Or if our case stay in MSC and we have an interview,im pretty sure they will just ask us to bring that recent ITR.

Our case was touched today. Probably just to move it to the "doesn't have the I-693" pile... we luckily had a copy of his full medical from Australia (completed May 2008) so I was hoping that would be enough...
