Hello young turk, when i filled I-360 alongwith I-485 on 2007 that time i applied for fee waiver for both of my application. so i didn't pay

any filing fee.

Hanah I have a quick question, approximately how long did it take u to receive RFE from the time u filed I-360?

Thank you hanah and carla-justin for your responds, in this case I should immediately file I-485 also, I asked my lawyer to file it but she asked for $700 in order to file it, I think I can file it by myself. Would you guys also tell me which service center should I file it to and how can I apply for a fee waiver?

Hi everyone, in a couple of days it will be 1 year since I filed my VAWA petition, I haven't heard anything from VSC, has anyone who filed for VAWA 1 year and over heard anything? Please let me know your timeline, greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Hello Everybody,

Let me start by saying this is not to depress anybody, but here is my timeline.

I filed mine on Jan 19, 2007. I had been getting prima facie after prima facie for the last couple of years. The first time my case was ever touched was on Mar 11, 2009 for an RFE to prove the "good moral character" requirement.

So from my perspective, the processing dates listed on the USCIS website never meant anything.

Hope this helps.

Jacob

As far as I know Vermont is the center dealing with this type of cases, and about the fee waiver, i really don't know. My attorney sent a letter explaining why I couldn't afford it and he made me save all my receipts from gas stations, groceries, medical and other expenses, rent, phone, etc... Good Luck and don't wait too long to do it, start saving everysingle receipt!!! and keep doint it for a while, you never know!!

My case was touched on the 21st. I wonder what that means. I hope it's an approval. but at this point, an RFE would even be welcome. I just need to know that my file is not floating somewhere in limbo.

Lostnnj, do you know how to log in to CRIS to check your case? I just found out that I have been checking my status at the wrong place! i have been going to the USCISdotgov website instead of going to CRIS!

Well I signed up on uscis.gov where i can check the status there and also I think they would send me emails if it was touched, RFE or approved, I honestly don't know if it's the same as CRIS or not. I have to do some research on that. It's weird that everyone who filed after me if getting touched, RFE or apporved, I have no clue what's going on with my case. I saw a case that was filed on the same day as mine got approved last Wednesday, I really don't know, I would be just fine with an RFE and even that they won't send me lol.

This is where you should go

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp

on the left hand menu, there is an option to log in. Once you log in, you will notice that your case will not be on the portfolio, follow the instructions on how to create a portfolio. Basically, you type in the EAC number and then it will give you details on when it was last updated.

My suggestion to you is to request an extension on your prima facie. You mentioned before that you only got the first prima facie and never requested for an extension when it expired. Well, you want them to touch your file? Request an extension. Don't forget to attach a copy of your expired prima facie on your letter.

The letter does not have to be complicated. it can be as simple as

Vermont service center

VAWA division

Vermont

To whom it may concern:

The purpose of this letter is to request an extension on my prima facie.

My receipt number is XXXXXXXXXX. Attached please find a copy of my expired prima facie.

Thank you for your consideration

Sincerely,

Lostinnj
