Yay Nessa, I can't believe you are almost there.

I have everything packed up, still have some laundry to do, wash one last load of dirty diapers (I've been mostly sticking with sposies for the past week though) and then we load up the car and take off to the airport. My flight leaves at 4:30pm and we'll arrive in Frankfurt at 9am tomorrow. I'm nervous about the flight especially reading Anna's experience but I guess I'll just have to get through that.

I am missing my sweet boy a lot. I'm trying to keep busy and work on all the things I can't do when he is here .... all my projects, etc. .... cleaning out his closet again and getting rid of too small things, adding to the baby book, giving the house a major cleaning, doing some decorating ...

My wife was positive for GBS at her last appointment. Anyone else have GBS while pregnant before? How did it go?

I had another sleepless night, Sofia woke up at 2am and didn't go back to sleep until 6.30am, when I put her on my chest and finally fell sleep, I read somewhere that babies feel very relaxes listening to the heartbeat but my hubby doesn't want her to get used to that or to sleep on our bed and I understand but what to do if those are the only ways how she can sleep?

By 11am I was to tired to wake up so my mom gave her a bottle with formula and after that she slept for 4 hours so I guess I will start giving her formula before going to sleep.

Eric, a friend of mine just had a baby and was positive for GBS ....she was in labor for 20 hours after her water broke and the baby got the infeciton and was in NICU for 13 days. The baby was just treated with antibiotics and was released after it cleared up

Nessa, im jealous ...I had a wide, stretch mark filled, ugly belly..good luck and enjpoy these last few days

my doctor said that if you're positive, they give u an antibiotic before u give birth.

@Vi: I wish I knew something that could help you! The only thing I know is that when I was a baby my mom would feed me and then give me a bath about an hour before she wanted me to fall sleep. Apparently that's what worked for me

Vi, If after you check she is burped good, clean and dry diaper and she still doesn't settle try swaddling and when you put hr down is she happy? Wwe have to swaddle and use a sleep positioner for Henry because he doesn't like the feling of not being cocooned, touching something. I spent a couple of nights when DH was on nights with him sleeping on my chest but we've got a routine now. Feed, burp, diaper, swaddle and lay him down.

You and little Sofia WILL get sleep--I promise! I agree with Miss Bollinger--swaddling can be key! My favorite was the Miracle Blanket, but we didn't get one until our son was about 2 months old.

Just so you know, I spent a good number of nights with my hijo falling asleep on my chest but he didn't get addicted to it. He sleeps just fine in his crib now. Whatever it takes to get them to sleep when they are little! I wouldn't give up on the breastfeeding to sleep--formula is no miracle sleep elixer. Sofia just doesn't know that mama needs to sleep at night yet!
