Fixored.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

There are always so many assumptions that go along with these conversations. One is, do ppl think you have to believe in God to have a life that feels fulfilling? I don't know where that was said in this thread. And I know people who don't believe in God who seem happy with their life. So that is not the only issue here, it's more than that. I don't know if the God believers are supposed to feel inferior or something, LOL.

i have no issue with any person's believes..it is their values and effects their daily life and helps establish a guide for how they live their life..no mocking from me...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Christian Science Monitor

More than half of all Christians also believe that some non-Christians can get into heaven.

"

This is the most debated religious subject in my family. I was just talking to a friend of mine at work, I dropped that one on her and her whole demeanor changed. "The only way to heaven is accepting Jesus in your heart", and this gem.."your actions dont get you into heaven, only accepting Jesus"

It's a pill I cant swallow, sorry.

when jesus was hanging on the cross beside the two others...one of them believed and the others didnt. the one who believed went to heaven...the one who didnt...well didnt. this is why we believe all it takes to get into heaven is believing and accepting and not actions. if it were actions then neither would go.

Faith without works is dead, James 2:20, Paul also wrote an epistle on this subject. but only good if you believe the bible is the word of God. Do we have a God that is a poet and not historically accurate and can't even spell out the basics of his commands without going on and on? Or a God that likes guys better than gals, or a son that wants all the gals as his brides? It goes on and on like this, can always pick up one or two phrases, can even dress up in uniforms to be soldiers of Christ, but if you take the bible as a whole, can really mess up your brain.

Agreed brother. What I find upsetting is whomever has whichever beliefs and boasts about them publicly and/or condemns those who believe different, or do not believe at all.

For me, a spiritual life is lead by your actions, not your yacking endlessly about whichever deity you chose, then turn around and mistreat people, be dishonest, arrogant, greedy and all those luvly qualities their "god" has marked as despicable. Like, puhleaze.

one-third believe Jesus sinned while on earth

Interesting. I thought that was a given. Shows how much I know...

Interesting that God has a son and the love between them is so great, a holy spirit is created by that love. And that son had to suffer and die for sins the rest of mankind committed, but not for long, just a weekend.

That is a good agnostic statement.

I think your religious faith is a personal thing. I find proselytizing very offensive and insulting.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, in that words don't mean anything if you aren't trying to live them. Of course no one can live exactly how they want to, but if they are trying then it counts. Just saying words, with doing the stuff you mention, leaves a very bad example.

Even for those who are not spiritual and not religious; or agnostics, atheists.... proselytizing is indeed lame. Unless you are on a freaking crusade -- then you are lamer

It always amazes me how many ways human beings can re-invent the magical invisible man in the sky to suit their own tastes. One day religion will finally be cast into the same light as tarot, Ouija boards, witchcraft, crystal healing, nature worship, and all the other mythology humans should have wasted their time with. Wish I could be around to see it, but I think we've got at least another half millennium of this silliness to stumble through before religion is finally and soundly rejected.

I hear ya brother

What blows me away is people who will die for this invisible God, this God is all powerful but he let's humans fight and die over things that as God should stop, but this God seems to enjoy the drama on earth, for I have never seen him step in and help. Guess he is busy, with what not sure, but as far as handling business on earth, he seems not to care much. Why worship someone who doesn't seem to care about your life or the life of anybody here on earth. Never understood that concept, and don't tell me free will, if you see your child running toward danger, any good parent will stop that child before he gets hurt, as a parent this God is not doing such a great job. That is just how I see it.
