A double slaying east of Colorado Springs on Thursday was the result of a gang-related clash over a stolen iPod, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.

The suspect, 19-year-old Juan Vasquez, was arrested early Friday in the shooting deaths of two male high school students at a park in the Cimarron Hills area, sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Lari Sevene said.

The victims were identified as 18-year-old Uriel Rascon and 17-year-old Luis Burciaga. Rascon attended Sierra High School, and Burciaga went to The New Horizons School, an alternative high school. Both schools are in Harrison School District 2.

Vasquez is being held in the El Paso County jail on an immigration hold placed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, jail records show.

He is due to appear in court Monday. An arrest affidavit was not available.

Autopsies determined that Rascon and Burciaga each died of a gunshot wound in the chest. They were shot with an SKS semiautomatic rifle, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.

Why is it that I knew it would be another case of illegal immigration causing this crime problem, open your eyes people, it is a major problem for us all, illegal immigrates are nothing more then law breaking criminals that steal and rip off the legal resident American tax payer all the time. We can only hope and pray this recession gets worse so that there is no work left for all these illegals to do and they are forced to get out of the USA and go home. Cause it is taking jobs away from legal residents here now in the USA.

Here is to hope and pray that all illegals are incarcerated or better yet hung and cast out of this great country to stop all the harm they are doing. And you for one living in California, text book example, you are living it, open your eyes look at what has happened to California thanks to all those illegals and all those liberal policies toward illegals, wonder how it feels there now, it does not work, better get ready out there for it is only going to get worse before it gets better and the sooner the illegals leave the better off California will be.

We can only hope and pray this recession gets worse so that there is no work left for all these illegals to do and they are forced to get out of the USA and go home. Cause it is taking jobs away from legal residents here now in the USA.

LOL!!

Yes, let's "hope and pray" that more people lose their homes and jobs and savings. Let's "hope and pray" more families are devastated by poverty and start having to wonder if they'll have a roof over their head next month. Let's "hope and pray" an entire generation of men and women who would have otherwise gone to college and been productive members of society instead have to compete for low-wage burger-flipping jobs.

Please, focus all of your energy into "hoping and praying" for silliness like this, because I hate to think of what you'd do if you weren't on your hands and knees praying to an invisible man.

ZOMG

I'm sure it's whitey's fault.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

When we assume, we make an ### out of u and me...

Being arrested for murder would certainly be an immigration issue even for a 'legal' immigrant. The assumption that Hispanic sir names indicate the alleged perpetrator is here illegally is not justified by the sparse information available in the story.

I don't think the "assumption" is based on surnames, but rather the fact that the suspect "is being held in the El Paso County jail on an immigration hold placed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement", chief.

Uncle,

I think ready4ONE's point is the following:

Being arrested for murder would certainly be an immigration issue even for a 'legal' immigrant.

Bravo Mox. I couldn`t have said it better. "hope and pray" that more people lose their homes and jobs and savings".

The outrage of the killings, which obviously all are Hispanics "illegals, cough, cough" is the same horse manure only

the likes of the Lou Dobbs enablers here at V/J so famously are known for.

Instead of railing against the real criminals, those who they "hope and pray" that have caused the loss of homes and

jobs and savings (Bush/Cheney) Junta, they practice their best Lou Dobbs theme of "stealing our jobs, our women and

our schools"....Such pathetic thread I might add.

It's really a shame .

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
