It is very sad to see babies and children living in fear and dying on both sides.

However, as I've said before, war is war and unfortunately due to the idiotic savage decisions that Hamas has made over the years, randomly sending rockets into Israel for no rhyme or reason, Israel HAD to respond and they did and I hope they get to finish what they had planned. And trust me, they didn't just wake up one morning and say "Oh lets go get them".

The blood is on Hamas' hands, not anyone else......

Is Israel just supposed to sit back and say "Hit me with your best shot" day in and day out. No country in the world would let this happen to them and not respond.

If someone came to your house, stood at your front door with a cheap hand made gun and took a shot at your child and missed and you had a gun, wouldn't you grab it and shoot back ?????

I think its becoming more and more difficult to be sympathetic towards Israel, given the disproportionate nature of the response. You can use all the analogies that you like - but someone has apparently decided that 4 Israeli lives are worth 700 Palestinians and the further destruction of an already crippled infrastructure.

Their sophistry is simply disgusting. I hear reporters ask about children left to die and they switch the argument to two rockets being fired from Lebanon. There is no justification. Israel once stood for law in the region. Now they are justifying everything they do in the language of the blood feud. What a terrible descent.

Yes you are justifying everything in language and details of what you want to behold and see.

Civilians die in war... and in Terrorism... you want a ratio of military personel to civilians from both sides? Please... just because I support Israel doesnt make me a monster that wants to see babies die. I support the big picture ideology which is the cessation of terrorism and the hope for a lasting peace. The devil is in the details and the execution (where babies die and soldiers are kidnapped, and Palestinean leadership continually refuse 2state options and peaceful measures)

Yes it is an insane war brought on by insane philosophy.. that being the mindset that one's people is somehow morally justified to completely destroy another... no swithing words there I mean Hamas' attitude toward Israel.

I dont care about overwelhming or disporportionate force. It is those measures that keep Terrorists from building enough military infrastructure to conduct their ultimate goals... I dont care if you are Egyptian, or Saudi or whomever, cause if Hamas is even 1% successful in their goal that is the end game in the middle east.

I'm not sure I understand this two-state thing, given that the Palestinian Authority controls the West Bank, while Hamas rules Gaza — two territories on opposite sides of Israel that are presumably supposed to make up a future Palestinian state.

Hamas took control of Gaza from forces loyal to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in June 2007. Divide and rule?

I have yet to find any measured analysis of this situation. Maybe I haven't been looking in the right places.

And you aren't?

You're doing the same thing as the reporters - glossing over the deaths of civilians by blaming everything on Hamas.

Just blatant proof that Hamas uses civilian areas to target Israelis...

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid...icle%2FShowFull

Nice justification there for killing babies and children. No fear though, Olmert gave the finger to the UN and is now killing more babies and children. You can rest in peace knowing that there will be less babies and children each day of this insane war. That is if you can rest in peace knowing there's blood on your hands.

Aren't they Israeli?

how is there blood on that poster's hands?

I meant to say your country's hands.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

So do me a favor

Get your airline ticket, get out and go help them if you so wish.

And while you're there, see if any of the Arab nations would take them in a refugees. I don't think you will find one Arab brother country that would and I wonder why

AP image of Israeli weapon system going off over Gaza.

Not sure what it is, but wow... And while the death toll is shocking, firing rockets indiscriminately will and should always invoke a response. Hamas still wants to fight, so let them die...

Sure they do. 75% of those so-called "innocent civilians" are Hamas.

Because they want nothing to do with the Palestinians - they are nothing but trouble!

Israel took Gaza from Egypt - do you think Egypt wants it back? Israel took the West Bank

from Jordan, do you think Jordan wants it back? They can't seal the border fast enough!

When did Israel do that?

They vowed to hit Hamas leaders "wherever they are", and have been doing that quite successfully

(Yassin, al-Rantissi, etc)

Well yeah - 500 down, another 4,500 to go?

Hamas has been known to have 10,000-15,000 gunmen in their ranks
