It's funny, with any problem that can be considered major, we can sit down and talk it over peacefully. It's that insignificant stuff where we bicker like yesterday, she wants to make a rolled bread ham loaf for her co-workers meeting, all have to bring in food for these occasions. But she had to work late last night, said you have everything except the ham, recipe called for honey ham. At the store, the honey ham was loaded with fat streaks, so got Virgina ham instead. Nice and lean, ocurred to me when baked, that fat would drip off into the bread. This created an issue between us, okay, I will eat the Virginia ham and get you the honey ham. We are going to bake that tonight. I won't say, I told you so, maybe I will. She has a German ancestry, I am Italian, us Italians are notorious for never following a recipe verbatim. LOL, Germans are noted to be a bit hard headed, but all in all, would have to say, we are living happily ever after.

For immature people, yes, I think that they think the hard part is over just when they find someone to marry and that once that's accomplished, it's all sunny and happy forever more.

I think for the rest of us, who have grown up in the real world, watching our parents get through life it is a bit more obvious that the wedding isn't the end of the story. When I started thinking about getting married to Nik, before I even decided to, I tried to learn a lot from what I thought my parents did right and what I thought they did wrong in their marriage. Those reflections probably had more impact than any fiction I was exposed to.

But really, am I qualified to answer this question? I have only been married for two months! :D
