Just wondering how many of you that normally get an xmas bonus got one this year?

I have gotten one every year until this year. My normally generous boss didn't give me one, nor did he offer an explanation as to why I didn't get one.

I feel like it's tacky to ask him why I didn't get one even though I'm highly ticked! I know bonuses are given at employer discretion and maybe I shouldn't feel that way but I'm sitting here stewing in anger...

Welcome to the new global economy... for many, just having a job is a bonus...

We got nothing...not so much as a card but seeing how things are these days it's understandable why bonuses are smaller or nonexistant...

We get one if we are dispatched away from home(Trucker). I'm in Florida now, so yes I will get it this year. My advice, without really knowing you, would be to be thankful you're not unemployed now. Then comes the revenge! Wait until there's a stronger job market and jump ship when they need you most! :D

Our bonus, if lucky, will be to keep our jobs while management gets a big raise and bonus

Well, he is a physician which I feel is a recession proof job. Plus I do all his accounting and I know that he made 7 figures this year just like every year so it's not like he's feeling the pinch! Not to mention that I am his only non-shared employee in the office. I know that I should be thankful for being employed but I just feel like I've been scrooged. <_<

Not getting a bonus sucks  I'd bring it up. Tactfully, of course.

Tell him you were reviewing the books and couldn't help but notice you didn't get an X Mas bonus!

That's a good idea. I will have to suck up my pride and ask. Hopefully I won't start the new year off unemployed!
