It touches on life among the lowest echelon of people living, scraping by, and surviving in Barranquilla City. Jesus has used music as an escape from the daily realities of the Murillo section of Barranquilla, Colombia.

Not all of Barranquilla is rough around the edges. Take a trip to the El Prado section of town, and you'll think you're the nicer parts of Miami or San Diego.

But, take a trip to Downtown Barranquilla, and its another story. Here, you will be asked to pay 25 cents to walk across the street along rickety wooden 2"x4"s to keep your feet from getting wet in water that collects after a sudden rain storm. Life is hard in this section of town, and that's what Poeta de Calle is rapping about.

I checked it out. I like his song Zona de mafioso. It's also his highest hits song with 203 plays. His voice is rhaspy his back up singer on his Zona de mafioso song has a developed singing voice. The character in that voice is more like the type of sound the industry is looking for. I also want to say whoever laces the tracks for his particular sound is the one with the real talent here. The music captures the sound the musician is going for in addition makes it colorful including the sounds and tones of his country. Do you know this musician, Poetas De Calle, personally? I saw you on his MySpace page. Is there a market down there for this kind of music or is he hoping to be international? Also does he have any plans for a Music video and if so is he going for rough ghetto Barranquilla style? It seems he likes to use cuss words, ect, in his "gangsta" music.
