That's not quite actually true. You can, in Texas, at nite, to prevent criminal mischief, if you feel there is no other way......

It's the law, i'm not advocating things like that or anything...

You cant take the law into your own hands. Thats not enforcement.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't involve someone going out looking for trouble, or otherwise grant you the same powers you would have if you were defending your home from a burglar.

Granted one thing is to help in observing the law is followed and enforced by contacting the proper authorities and the other is whining like a douchebag about it while not actually doing anything to that effect. There's no other way to sugar-coat this.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

ditto brother HAL,

If he is that "troubled" with the issue DO something, instead of preaching to people that, the majority, don't even care. Go to those people that actually HAVE to care (state, federal senator and representatives) and give them an earful on a weekly basis like he does here.

At least have the common courtesy to to identify who "he" is. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Well for the record I'm not referring to any one in particular, but yes... examples could come to mind of people acting quite odd given the fact that enough law enforcement structures exist to detain law-breaking individuals and all they have to do is pick up a darn phone.
