Ok, I contacted my Congresswoman regarding my case, today marks day 135....she called me today and stated she got a response from CSC, they stated basically the same thing to her as they did to me that my case is undergoing "security checks" the only difference is they told her that it could take another 6 MONTHS to complete my case!!!! We have already waiting almost 5 months. Does this make any sense to anybody????

Has anyone had to wait this long to be approved, over a year??? Do you think I will really have to wait 6 more months???? :crying:

OH NO! I am so sorry to hear this. I sincerely hope things pick up for you. Remember, it took them 137 days to approve my case. I know what you are going through right now.

I really don't believe that it will take them six more months I think the six months is a summation of time that they have already delayed and the remaining time to go.

You will be in my prayers. It is absolutely amazing how this freaking system works. Have faith and I would suggest you contact your congressperson again to see if they can somehow speed things up.

Good luck.

Sincerely,

- Vishrit

I was told it is a standard response-a few vjers thought that maybe b/c I contacted my congressman I made things worse but I am glad I did it. I bet you hear something in a week or so ;) I wish I could show you the letter but my man has everything in Dublin-sounds exactly like what happened to us. Don't worry-you will get your approval soon. Believe me-that was one of the best days of my life. I never thought an e-mail would make me so happy-but it sure did.

"It will take 6 months" seems to be the canned response from the Service Centers. They seem to say that to everyone (based on reading VJ boards). The person your congresswoman talked to probably has no idea when it will get done and only knows it is in security checks, so everytime you aske they will say 6 months.

I'm so sorry to hear your news! I guess my hope for everyone is that when you are desperate enough (aka have had to wait a ridiculous amount of time) to contact the congressperson they will somehow move things along. I really hope something good comes of all this very, very soon for you, for calidreamer, myself, and for everyone else out there forced to wait months and months without any solution. The waiting is just getting to be so drawn out and the fact that you (USC) have absolutely no way of making things better is incredibly frustrating. You're in my thoughts and prayers!!!

I've heard of waiting up to 6 months, anything after that is absurd (as if 6 wasn't absurd enough but least they state in the site that it could take up to that much). You should keep calling and demanding action from them.
