I met my wife in public. I thought she was cute, so I chatted her up and got her number.

I only use the Internet for having sex with myself.

and posting on VJ :P:lol:

Who says I don't have my pants around my ankles with a box of tissues next to me when I'm reading about NVC procedures?

Yep, online.....on a neurological disorder forum of all places.......LOL

Friends, email, phone etc....for two years, decided to finally meet...he flew from Toronto to Vancouver, I drove up......INSTANT chemistry....

another two years long-distancing...after a while he moved to B.C to be closer.....

I was going to go there, but ex wouldn't let me take the kids,

we got married, almost a year of Visa stuff til he finally arrived....so 5 years total to be together....married 4 years now.

"What a long strange trip it's been"

5 years total from "meeting" to him being here, 8 years all together now.....WOW

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

We met at work. I was sent to KY to train for a department that I was putting up in Cebu. He never said a word to me for the first three weeks. On the fourth week, he had no choice but to help me with boxes for me and my staff so we'd have something to put all the things we shopped for in the US to bring back home. I found out then that he was married and I was in a relationship too so I never thought about anything after that. Then when I came back home, that's when we started really talking and became good friends. That's when he laid down all the cards about himself and what he felt for me and that his marriage was breaking down. Before, we ever jumped into anything, we went ahead and really sat down and talked about it when it was his turn for a business trip to Cebu. And the best days of my life were just starting then. He finally got the divorce he wanted and we are just waiting for that elusive NOA2 and the visa and hoping to get married in June 2009.

I was looking to go out and see Barranquilla, Colombia and not be alone the whole time. My friend Maria suggested to me to contact this fly hottie that I saw online, and I dropped her an email. She (Leidys) happened to be online, and wrote me back immediately. I walked across the street with Leidys' phone number, and used a cell phone for hire. In 10 min. I had plans for the next evening.

Dinner followed up seeing Wall-E (en Español), and the next evening, we went for dinner and to talk. 5 days flew by, and it was time to return home. "Where Did She Go?" morphed into "Where Did She Come From?" and now, I'm planning to visit an incredible woman that I talk to almost every night of the week. Yep, I'M IN LOVE!!

So I just joined this site because I recently got engaged and my friend recommended VJ (she met her husband while working for the Peace Corps in his home country). I met my fiance the old-fashioned way. We both happened to be on holiday in the same town, walking down the same street, and started chatting. Before we knew it, the afternoon had flown by and we had to say goodbye. After that, we kept in touch profusely and developed a close friendship and mutual affection--but nothing at all romantic. I went back to visit him this summer, both of us without any expectations. By the end of my month with him and his family, we were engaged.

Now it seems that a lot of couples on this site met via the internet, so I'm just curious about people's stories...those who are willing to share.

My SO is a childhood friend,we met in 1981.

Met through work - while on deployment in my home country, he came with his work colleagues to request some books my organization published and I opened the door. He didn't get the books that day as he needed to fax us a request but he wanted to bring the fax in person... A year and a half later we were married.

My Wife & I met in Japan in 1994, we were just friends but hang out a lot with our other friends. I immediatly liked her. She is beautiful and he rmanerisms and kind heart showed in everything she did. She was so nice to everyone she met. I returned to Ca. in 1996 her & I kept in touch sporadically through letters and occasional e-mails. I would call her every year on her brithday and send her Holiday cards, we still remained friends. each of us were in & out of relationships.

In 2003 she e-mailed me and let me know she was traveling to CA. to attend school for the summer. I was so excited after 10 + years we would be reunited! I dropped everything to make sure I could put 100% into her. We became close in a matter of days! and started dating seriously. She retruned to Japan and a month later i went to visit her, where I proposed to her off the coast of Ao Jima island in Miyazki Japan. (We found out later that the Ao-jima shrine where i prosposedto her, was buit as a shrine for lovers & those who planned to get married)

We returned to Hermosa Beach,Ca. together & married in 2004, had our first baby in March 2005, Dec. 2006 she received her 10 Year GC now have two beautiful children a 4 year daughter and a 2 year old boy.
