Can anyone please tell me how to know if my case was "touched" online. I keep seeing that in peoples' timelines and I cant see that online on uscis page.Thanks

When you look up your case on the USCIS website, look under the Last Updated section. If the date changes on there from a previous day to a new day then you know your case has been touched!

If it helps any (I am a November filer) I received the email from CRIS that my EAD card was ordered as did most Nov filers exactly 4 weeks after my last touch (The day after my Bio appt).

Yes, you'll have to create a case status online account. It's totally worth it because, in addition to it being easier to look up your case (you can just log in with a username and password instead of having to know your receipt numbers), it will also automatically email you any time your case status is updated.

Oh Lord,

when I thought I was free from any RFE's....... just got an email from CRIS stating that they sent today a letter requesting for evidence on case I-485

I'm really sad, I believe that even the EAD will be on hold until they get whatever they want from me about that RFE...

Whatif:

USCIS will put everything (EAD and 485) on hold until you send the info that they need. AND the address we were told to mail the evidence to was a P. O. Box!! I was irritated but what to do??

I received and mailed the RFE today. We forgot to include a copy of our marriage certificate and I noticed our mistake the next day so I have been waiting for the RFE. Here is our timeline since fingerprints.

01.10.09: Biometrics Ltr Rcvd

01.22.09: Biometrics appt

01.22.09: RFE Date

01.28.09: RFE Received

01.28.09: RFE Sent

Keep watching that mail and act quickly.

Thankyou Patna for your comforting words. I can't think of anything what the RFE might be about.... I am going crazy enough not being able to drive,work...well,you know what I mean.Being stuck at home is not pleasant at all and my energy is drawning already....

Well,let's hope for the best. Thanks God I have a wonderful and supporting husband.

We had our bio appointment on 13-Jan and there's been no touch on our case. Should I be concerned? All our receipts (EAD / AP / AOS) still show the status comment "USCIS received your application on 19-Dec and have sent you a letter telling you what to do"

There's been no RFE or anything. Just the appointment letter and we went.

Should I be calling them at this point?

Oh and bad news... FoMoCo let me go this past Monday so now I'm looking for work. How the heck am I going to find a new $100K / year job in this market!!!???

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. [...]

The file had gone from the Chicago lockbox to the CSC; does this mean that it has now gone to our local office (Houston)? If so, WHY? (Was it determined that an interview is now required? Other?) The bad news is that the processing, as of the 1/23/09 USCIS update, is only up to applications received March 18, 2008.

Also, why just the AOS, and not the EAD & AP, too?

EAD and AP are processed elsewhere and have their own case numbers. It's not clear to me whether the case was transferred to Houston or is still in California.
