I got my biometrics app letter today! wahoo! I already updated the google excel document. this is a very cool document, i can see me and JillA are basically on the same track, with the same dates on almost everything. do the November or earlier month filers have a document like this, too?

We're planning to leave the USA for several weeks after the biometrics appointment... was wondering if we have enough time to do that, or if some other interview/appointment is scheduled soon after the biometrics appointment?

You sent your packet to the Chicago office, right? Hopefully since you're on a K-1 you won't have an interview. Ours was transferred directly to CSC, so we probably won't have an interview.

Yep, we sent it to the Chicago Lock box. I hope we get transferred to CSC, *crossing fingers*

I thought the same way. The google excel sheet is very helpful. I could not wait to come back home and check mail box after I read the postings of JillA and wackodacko today about their receipt of bio app letter.

And yes, I found my biometrics app letter in our mailbox today.

A picture that was taken during bio appt will be used for green card and EAD.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Are you guys saying theres a high chance of not needing an interview if you go through the CSC? Who said? i saw some old posts here on the forum saying if you are doing a work-related AOS then most likely no interview. but if its spouse/family AOS then most likely you have an interview.

By the way... If CSC means "california service center"...do i have a higher chance of being assigned there if my location is in California???

Hi guys, I applied for EAD separately after I received my I-797c notice for I-485. I already completed my bio on Dec 29 for I-485. Now, I got another

appointment notice of bio on Jan 15 for my EAD. Does this sound normal since I applied separately? I thought that the same I-485 bio will be used for EAD.

Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks...

This is correct. Biometrics are done for AOS as well as EAD. If you applied for your EAD after you sent in for your I-485 you will indeed need to go to another.

Hey- Maybe the second picture will look better?

wackodacko, the non-interview situation usually happens only to K1 files, who had an interview already in their home country.

for people like me (was on a work visa) and you (tourist visa), I think interviews will always happen.

I noticed in the spreadsheet that only me and Piyanet&Dan mailed our AOS on Dec. 9, and neither of us got a biometrics appointment already (don't know though if Piyanet&Dan updates his/her timeline). While there are some other filers (K1 based) who mailed their AOS later than Dec. 9 but have done their biometrics already. This confuses me. I thought the processing is on a first come-first served basis.

Biometrics are completely dependent on your local office and how busy they are. The request to schedule biometrics, theoretically, gets sent out to the local offices in the order that Chicago receives them...but after that, if your local office is busy (I've heard Seattle is really bad, for example) it takes a long time. Some places get them out ASAP. It's just luck of the draw as to whether your local office is slow or not. Hopefully you'll get yours soon!

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.
