My advice, show some restraint. yes, it sucks being apart. BUT it is temporary. Save your vaca time and money to help your fiance adjust once he is here. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.

 If you don't have vacation time left and are in debt you should not go.

Should I book one more short trip to Nicaragua before the interview? ...which will hopefully be in March and I'm planning on spending a week or so there before we return.

Last time I saw him was 3 days in September (before that 1 month in April)...can't tell if I'm getting crazy or this is a legitimate logic that I'm using. We were orginally going to try to tough it out, for financial reasons, but had a mutual agreement that if we heard nothing by January that I would plan a quick trip.

We are just getting into that really difficult stretch, and I can't help trying to convince myself that what could be more important that seeing my fiance to work on our relationship...

I found tickets for 400$ (!)--I have no vacation time left and I've got a small amount of credit card debt, that I'd rather not have. What do you think?

More trips the better. Not only do the COs like more trips but your relationship will benefit one way or the other also.

Exactly my thoughts.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I have mustered all the resolve I have, and wrangled in all the cheapness vibes I can harness, and I will 'tough it out.'

I know we need the money. and unlike a lot of people on VJ, we've gotten to spend a lot of time together, it's just the last year that's been killer.

And how great to think, the next time we see eachother, it will be for good! No more Adios!!

Thanks, everyone!

I think in the long run I think you'll be really glad you waited. :) Once your fiance is here, you'll need time and money to show him around and to help him become acclimated to his new home. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I voted no.

You don't have the money or the vacation time. You have met twice this year. I would save both money and vacation for when you are together for good.

(part of me says see him anyway though :-) )
