I am getting everything ready to send in my K1 petition, and am going to include Western Union receipts and envelopes that my fiancee has sent me as proof of ongoing relationship. Should these be originals or are copies OK?

Send copies of any evidence. Keep the originals for the interview.

Always send copies unless originals are specifically requested. Proof of relationship doesn't even need to be submitted at this stage (though most do). Just evidence of meeting within the last 2 years.

Save it fot the interview, No need prove bonafide relation with initial petition. You only have to prove you met in person in the last 2 years.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

USCIS doesn't require proof, but the consulate will. Enclosing some proof in the USCIS package will avert the very real prospect of the consular officer's refusing to accept evidence that you bring to the interview and then claiming that you didn't bring any. It has happened. If you include some proof in the USCIS filing, you'll take this excuse away from a rogue consulate.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

usually not a good idea to show them money is going back and forth

 they might think its not a real relationship and they might think its just for money

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

I am not really sure but I read before in some blog that it would be better if you are going to send original proofs because it will shorten the time of the process if there's no RFE. Sometimes, the USCIS is sending RFE just asking for the original copy. But be sure to have 2 or more photocopies of all the documents.

Proof of ongoing relationship, if you can have phone call logs, text messages, chat logs, cards for occasion, post cards and receipts of delivery (Stuffed toys or flowers). Just in case, you are using Motorola cellphone, it has a good log for calls and text messages.

Lifting Condition (I-751)

09/09/2011 - Sent the package to CSC

09/13/2011 - CSC received the package

09/15/2011 - CSC cashed check and NOA1 Received

09/26/2011 - Biometrics Appointment Notice Date (Sent)

10/13/2011 - Early Biometrics

10/19/2011 - Biometrics Appointment

10/26/2011 - GC expiration

11/25/2011 - Received RFE

11/28/2011 - Sent response to RFE

01/13/2012 - Ordered card production (Approved)

01/19/2012 - 10 yrs GC received

I'd omit the Western Union receipts altogether. Sending money is no evidence of a relationship, but can raise a suspicion that you are being "used" for financial reasons. You don't need to prove an ongoing relationship until the interview occurs -- you just need to prove that the two of you have met, and photos will do that along with copies of plane tickets, hotel bills, etc.

Thanks for the replies about the Western Union, I didn't even think about that. So I won't send them. I'm off to the post office to mail this packet out! Let's hope for the best.

I agree with others regarding the money. Do not include.

Also would like to add that although proof of ongoing relationship is not necessarily requested at the USCIS stage of the process, if you are going through a higher fraud Consulate it is often suggested that you send some proof with the initial petition.

Many times the CO will have an opinion regarding the 'bona-fide' relationship before the beneficiary even gets there for the interview and based on the evidence sent with the initial petition. If you can answer any questions and prove that your relationship is authentic early on it's often a better outcome.

This is a perfect answer, especially the boldface qualifier.
