Hey! for those of you who went through AOS with no Interview..

I am trying to figure out on what basis they approve with no interview..

did you/are you:

A. have some sort of visa? work visa etc

B. length of time married?

C.Maybe high income?

D. what country?

A. No, regular K-1 adj.

B. 15 days

C. Please define..

D. Ukraine

It has been theorized that it is more about how busy the local office is. If the local office has available interview slots you might get chosen, if not you go to CSC.

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

Okay well, we just got the "transfer to CSC email", so I guess it is still possible that there will be an interview, but...

One big determining factor is if the visa used to enter the USA was on that has IMMIGRANT intent designed into it, that is one that is processed much like an immigrant visa, and handled by the immigrant visa unit at the US consulate or embassy.

K-Visas, and certain work visas have immigrant intent as part of the visa allowing adjustment of status, so in those cases are more likely to get approved without interview.

Persons entering the USA on a B-Visitors visa or by VWP, and then marry and adjust status will always get interviewed, because they did not get immigrations interviewed when getting their visa.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Another reason why somebody may get transferred to CSC is if your local office is backlogged and you have already been interviewed for the visa abroad. If you are on a visitor visa, they will keep you in your local office, no matter how long the wait is.
