September AOS filers

Hey guys! I just found out today (sunday) that our check got cashed on Friday!! woohoo!! I know that for the K-1, when using a personal check they would put the WAC# on the check and from then on you could track your case online........is that the same for AOS?? I see a whole bunch of numbers on my check (with my bank I'm able to see the front and back of the check that was cashed), but I don't know which one is our case number?? Or are things different with the AOS?? any feedback is greatly appreciated!! it won't be long before we get out NOA's!

Would I get my EAD faster if I walk in? It's kind of moot point now because my app is 10/6

I'm really not sure if doing walk in biometrics speeds up your case processing at all...

I live very close to our office here and the original scheduled time didn't work for me so I attempted a walk in - and it was successful.

However, sometimes they are too busy and you just have to wait for the appointment.

Things vary from office to office.

It seems it is up to you.

Like with everything else, it seems that there are no firm rules.

I probably shouldn't worry, but I cannot help. I sent AOS application on september 5th, received the NOAs on the 16th, so so far, everything is ok. But I have seen that many people who sent their package at the same time than me already have received the biometrics letter for the appointment. I check my mail box everyday, but nothing... Do you think something is wrong or I just make this up?

I wouldn't worry just yet.

Maybe you can call the Info-line if it doesn't arrive next week?

The Info line seems to not be the most reliable source,

but many other VJ posts on this web site give pretty good advice on how to deal with them.

I hope it all goes well and you get your bio letter soon!

Go to this page on the USCIS website. You can register and enter your Application number when you receive your first NOA. They don't update very often.

I just got my biometrics appointment notice today, scheduled for 10-09. As anybody ever done a walk-in at the Norfolk, VA office? I could go at the appointment time they gave me, but I'm hoping going early would help a tiny bit to speed up the process...

Hello Friends.

I received NOA1 for all of my applications in mail (I-485, 131 and 765) today. Yay!

I was waiting to have my personal check cashed, but I received NOA1 before they cashed my check.

Whew!!! Finally the AOS package has been sent today. Starts the waiting time.. It will arrive there tomorrow at 22:00 pm. Hopefully speedy journey!

Doh! Someone tied me for the last September mailing of AOS application. Mailed it via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation but I think I lost the tracking number haha. I'll just wait for the check to be cashed. They may be slow on a lot of things, but USCIS is really quick when it comes to cashing your payment.

that should be the case number from what i know, i think it should correspond to your i-485 (i didn't use a personal check, but i think this is the case). your other apps will have different case numbers, but you will have to wait for the NOAs for that. the numbers should start with MSC

Just did a walk-in today for my biometrics. Overall good experience at the Norfolk Application Support Center. Security guard sounded like he had a potato in his mouth the whole time, and I had trouble understanding him. There was one person already being biometriced (biometriqued? biometered?) so I sat in the waiting area. There was one employee, not really friendly, but he got the job done quickly. I was in and out in 20 minutes.

I kinda wish I'd gone for a haircut before, but hopefully I don't have to show my GC too often

Just wanted to share my experience with other Hampton Roads area folk!
