Are you still in AP? Your timeline says the consulate called to bring the passport on the 16th. Just a bit confused, that's all!

No, we are not in AP anymore....that I know of. We are waiting for them to call so that he can pick up his visa. They have had his passport since last Wednesday morning. All our plans are on hold until they call.

It appears I just lost my job. Because I left work on Friday sick from stress I was informed I "ran away from my responsibilities" so I was terminated. This is from the same woman who told me if there was ever anything she could do to help me, she would. Hmmm. Well, even though I am in tears and terrors right now, I have a very deep sense of relief. That job was horrid for insultingly low pay. I wasn't sleeping well at night and I was certainly dreading going there every day. They have had 3 people quit in the last 2 months and its not a big company. I should have been one of them. I knew, yet I was so afraid what it would to Mohammed's visa that I stayed. Now I am so afraid this will mess everything up. We do have a co sponsor so hopefully that help gloss over this lull in my employment history. I need to regroup today then hit the streets hard. I have already sent out a few feelers. Just God help me... this isn't feeling very good.

I am not going to say that I am sorry to hear that because this seems like it is what is best for you. You are better off and you will find a better job. Everything happens for a reason and trust in god. He will provide. If you have a cosponser, it should matter. Good Luck on your search and I am sure then once you land something, you will be wondering why you didn't leave sooner.

Wow Jean I just signed in for updates and get my pms. I am so sorry to hear this but I will say maybe this is for the best. Can you draw your unemployment now? I would sign up if so, get that started. Put your feelers out and hope you can get a better job where you are respected and with more pay. As far as your concerns of job and your SO it should not be a problem since you already have a co sponsor. One thing for sure is being let go will allow you to draw pennies where as if you quit you would not have that option. Take care and best of luck on the job hunting.

Carshel and KML I will stop back in later today to see if either one you have gotten your calls. Hang in there everyone.

Good afternoon all! So sorry to hear about your job, Jean. But like others have said..maybe it's for the better. What Allah takes away he replaces with something better, inshallah. Well I had a great weekend. Went out to visit a friend in Kalamazoo for the weekend and adopted one of her kittens which I named, Layla. She's so cute! Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Oh goodness, what a weekend. I ahd it all planned out to get us relaxed prior to our interview tomorrow. We were going to go out for cheesecake on Friday night, go to the library opening on Saturday and dance to the world music bands there, and then relax on Sunday.

So, as I'm walking from the bus home on Friday, I get my keys out of my pocket. Apparently, my little remote clicker keyless entry thingy falls off and the b@stards behind me think it would be funny not to return it. I didn't realize it had fallen off and was walking up to the door of the apartment building when my car, which was parked across from the door, started to lock and unlock, beep and the trunk open and close. I thought the car was possessed (evil jinnis  ). So, I freak out, and try to figure out what is wrong with the car. After a few minutes this stops, I look down at my keys and realize that my clicky thing is gone. I look all over, but the b@stards are gone.

So now I'm freaked out that people can get into my car. There's nothing really for the mto take from it, but they could have hotwired it or something. I called a bunch of Ford dealerships and no one knew how I could remove that lost clicker from my car's memory. So, husband and I got in the car and drove all the way around the twin cities looking for an open ford dealership (they all closed at 6, jerks). We ended up parking in an expensive parking ramp downtown.

Saturday I get up bright and early and take the car into a dealership. We think we reprogramed it so that only our one clicker will work, but who really knows? Our car has been parked at our apartment lot since mid saturday and it doesn't look like it's been broken into. Alhamduililah.

I'm not a very calm person, and I get aggitated easily, but alhamduillah, I remained pretty calm throughout the entire ordeal. The only time I got upset was when I thought of the jerks who had my clicky thing and thought it would be funny to freak me out rather than just say, oh you dropped this.

To finish up my marathon post, yesterday we drove to the USCIS service center in Bloomington, MN. I printed out the directions from google maps, and promptly got lost. Alhamdulilah we went out to find it before our interview tomorrow. I could see myself getting lost at 12:15 on Tuesday and having a complete meltdown.

Make dua for our interview tomorrow, 12:30 p.m.

Rahma, I would TOTALLY freak out if that happened to my car remote, too. What a bunch of jerks they are for doing that to you. I hope the dealership fixed it right. Best of luck tomorrow!!!

Jean, my thoughts are with you, but honestly, as others and you yourself have said it sounds like that job was just not a good match for you. I think this is going to open the door to something better.

I am trying to write a stupid paper to make up for something I was apparently supposed to do 2 years ago. They tell me 2 weeks before my graduation that I won't graduate unless I do it. Argh. Off to it, then.
