good morning everyone! well, i'm off to work for a little while then back to my WW meetings! I got disgusted enough w/ myself this weekend in costume to realize I have to get back on track and watch my weight again. So off I go to pay someone to weigh me and write down everything I eat.... I know by now how to do this but for some reason, it works better for me when I have to report to meetings.... go figure

btw, landed another gig from the bachelorette party I did on Sat... another girl hired me to do the same for her friend's party she's hosting! YAY! (easy $$)

I'm starting to freak out a bit for my actuarial exam on Thursday. I took a practice exam last night, and didn't do as well as I would have liked, which means I have to crank up the intensity for my last three days of studying. At least I still have four hours of study time left at work, as well as Wednesday off to study. I don't think I'll be around too much until after the exam, so I hope to hear lots of good news when I return!

Stay cool, chicas y chicos....

It appears I just lost my job. Because I left work on Friday sick from stress I was informed I "ran away from my responsibilities" so I was terminated. This is from the same woman who told me if there was ever anything she could do to help me, she would. Hmmm. Well, even though I am in tears and terrors right now, I have a very deep sense of relief. That job was horrid for insultingly low pay. I wasn't sleeping well at night and I was certainly dreading going there every day. They have had 3 people quit in the last 2 months and its not a big company. I should have been one of them. I knew, yet I was so afraid what it would to Mohammed's visa that I stayed. Now I am so afraid this will mess everything up. We do have a co sponsor so hopefully that help gloss over this lull in my employment history. I need to regroup today then hit the streets hard. I have already sent out a few feelers. Just God help me... this isn't feeling very good.

Wow, so sorry to hear that. Although it sounds like it may just be the best thing for you. You should be fine seeing that you have a co-sponsor, so try not to stress too much.

I hope you're able to find a new job (and one that you love!) very soon!

Morning all! I really hope this week is better than last. I'm at work, but cannot for the life of me concentrate. Still waiting for the Consualte to call and it's making us both crazy. Hope everyone has a nice calm Monday and a smooth week!

KML - I really hope you get that phone call soon. Has your finacee contacted DOS or her Senator/Congressman yet?

I hope everyone else waiting gets some good news soon (me included)!

Are you still in AP? Your timeline says the consulate called to bring the passport on the 16th. Just a bit confused, that's all!

Ohhhhhh Jean I am so very sorry to hear this.... you didn't need any more stress right now.

But I must say you are taking a very healthy, positive attitude about it all.... insha'allah you will come out of this on top and in better situation than before.

My thoughts and prayers with you.

Just_waiting I am so sorry to hear about your job. That happened to me last year. My husband's K-1 interview was Oct 11 and I was laid off from a job in late August. By the grace of God, I was back to work by Sept 29th.

You'll see it will work out.

inshaAllah, you will be blessed.
