The news I read said he is in critical condition and survived. Is there somewhere that said he actually died? I saw the video, I don't know why they keep playing it over and over. It's disrespectful to the guy IMO.

If it sounded as IF Im being disrespectful to that guy, I actually posted this here to show people that STORMS ARE NO JOKE AT ALL. A lot of people dont have respect for these natural happenings until they are hit with DISASTER. and thats what happened to this poor guy. They were there SHOWING OFF THEIR GAMES IN PUBLIC, NO ONE KNEW WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN UNTIL IT DID...and that guy is not yet dead, someone here in my office sent me the link and said the guy was dead, where in he is actually in critical condition so lets pray for this poor soul that he may have a speedy recovery.

Obviously what the guy was doing was stupid. I could understand them playing it over and over if he had just broken a toe or something. But since he is in critical condition, I think it's not right to make him or his family feel extra stupid having to see it over and over. If I made a stupid mistake I wouldn't mind if they talked about it to caution people but to show my possible demise on the news over and over is disrespectful in my opinion. He may die, who knows and I don't think they should exploit his misfortune, as Krikit explained. If he had died it would have been even more horrifying to watch in my opinion, knowing he lived was a relief but the clip makes you cringe and goes beyond learning a lesson. Anyway we won't all agree.

yes it is horrible what happened...however, if he didnt want to look stupid over and over again on tv, he shouldnt have done what he did. he was an adult, its not like he didnt know he was risking his life.

Hopefully the only bumping will be a nice-guy upgrade to business class. Yeah, right.

welp, our county schools and government buildings are closed tomorrow and friday. And my sup sd keep my cell by my bed tonight bc she may be calling me in the morning.

fay has strenghtened back to 60 mph winds, and we are expecting to get hit bad here in gainesville.

thats the update on FAY for now. :)

This is our warning BEFORE fay hits, bc of that system to the north

THE WIND ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT FRIDAY.

THE COMBINATION OF TROPICAL STORM FAY OVER CENTRAL FLORIDA AND STRENGTHENING HIGH PRESSURE NORTH OF THE AREA WILL BRING WINDY CONDITIONS TO PORTIONS OF INLAND NORTHEAST FLORIDA. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 40 MPH ARE POSSIBLE IN THE ADVISORY AREA.

We are on tropical storm watch til late friday bc of fay.

No word of a lie - hubby says - just because, that's the way we're told to do it. He thinks perhaps because it was one less step of programming for the computer to read text and make an audio recording.

Shoot it FINALLY rained for only HALF a day here today in Fort Lauderdale...finally saw the sun after 3.5 days.

From what I understand, most of the meteorologists are saying Fay was only a practice run for Florida, the strong stuff is yet to come.

My only experience of a hurricane (apart from the one in England in 1987) was Katrina...hopefully that is going to be the worst one I ever have to sit through.

Holy smokes, it's been raining here non-stop since Monday. Today I woke up to...... more rain. And wind. Again. This is the longest storm ever. :lol: But I agree.... I think we have something more interesting to look forward to. <_<
