Hi,

For anyone who's filled one of these out I have few questions.

How many I-864's do I need?

One for me, I am selfemployed and do not have income on tax returns, only lossess :)

I would need I-864-A to be filled out someone from my family?

So that would be total of 2 forms?

thanks

Edited by Ilya R.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Ilya, you need I-864 for yourself and I-864A for your family member to be filled in.

I saw in your signature, you paid taxes to the U.S. Actually, you should ask the refund from IRS for your losses in the self employment :star::star::star:

well if they are corporate losses (subchapter S) that flow to your individual return then they may qualify for carryback or carryforward rules dependant of course on what the rest of your tax profile look like....

If they are subchapter C losses then they don't play on your affidavit of support.....

YMMV

You may also be able to use assets to make up for a deficit.

Example...

You and your wife = a household of 2. So under the 2008 poverty guidelines, 125% would be $17,500

So let's say your tax return says you made $12,500 last year. That leaves you with a deficit of $5,000

You would need to show assets in the amount of (5 x $5,000) $25,000 in order to make up for the deficit.

The net value of your real estate can be used, but cars can only be used if you can prove that you have more than one car,

and at least one car is not being used as an asset.

Yeah, there's lots of poor self-employed people in this world.

Hope this year is better for you.

I just want to point out that the I-864A is only if the family member completing it lives with you. If they live at a separate address, then they would complete a second I-864 as a joint sponsor.

Hi...

can anyone please help me....???

I just received mail from NATIONAL VISA CENTER located at rochester ave portsmouth NH,

stating that I should pay $70.

It goes like this

Fee Payment:

Before the NVC can continue processing this immigrant visa petition, you must pay the Affidavit of Support (AOS) fee $70.

Is this bogus????

And they also said I have to fill out the form about INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHOICE OF AGENT AND ADDRESS FORM.

AM i dealing with something fake/bogus here cuz, I believe that filing AOS(Affidavit of Support) is free, I only have to upload the form online.Right?

Has anyone receive anything like this?

What instructions should I receive for About the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

The NVC does require a bill for $70 be paid prior to processing the I-864. Everyone must pay it. The Choice of Agent and Address form is the DS-3032 which is sent to the beneficiary to be completed and returned. Alternatively, the response to the DS-3032 could be emailed using these instructions. So the instructions that you have received are perfectly legit. The links below would be some very good reading to help you become familiarized with the process.

:help::help::help:

Hi I'm filling out the I864 form and having trouble with part 3:

Item 8 says:

I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above.

I check "yes" because that's my wife.

Item 9 says:

I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within six months of the principalimmigrant named in Part 2 above. Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition.

Ahh, this is where I'm not sure if I should include our daughter. Can anyone help me?
