Hello. My wife and I have my wife's AOS initial interview tomorrow in Fairfax. We have all of our documentation/photos already prepared. But what we're worried about are the questions they might ask. Also I hear that sometimes they separate couples and ask them separately. Everything is fine with that, but we're both so nervous that we're worried our minds might go blank!!!!!

To anyone who's had an interview can you tell me what kinds of questions they ask? It shouldn't make us so nervous, but the stakes are collossal!!!!!

I feel like I'm going out of my mind here! Mainly just because I'm worried that my mind might go blank. My wife says the same thing!

I had my interview in the same DO, granted, it was 3 years ago... Mine went great... But it all depends on the IO. My hubby and I were only asked where we met and how... and that was that. For the rest of the time we talked about CA (the IO and my hubby were from CA) and the fact that IO and us lived in the same building (although we never saw each other before). That was it... I practically had to force him to look at the pictures that we brought. I had 2 friends who were interview in the same DO and they had a completely different experience. Both were asked all of the standard questions, i.e., when, how and where did you meet, where do you live, what are the names of the relatives and such. So it largely depends on the IO that you get. Don't worry, be yourself and you will be fine. Good luck

If you have nothing to hide, there's no need to worry IMO. Just make sure she knows your job well, your family's names, have some evidence, and you'll be fine.

She knows my company. She pretty much knows my job title, that it's an analyst position. She kind of knows my boss's name and how much I make. How much they take out per paycheck for health insurance, 401k, dental, and vision.

I know her boss's name, how much she makes, when she started working where she does, the name of her company.

Does she need to know Everyone in the photos we have? There are some very choice photos of us with family that has a couple people whose names she might forget come interview time, when we're both in the pressure cooker!!!

Can you tell me what other questions the IO asked your friends? Questions like "Where do you live" are a cake walk -- just say our address. :)

Me and my wife met over 4 years ago; just got married last August. Just had our 1-year anniversary. Would the IO expect us to remember what we did on our first date??? Things like that??? I remember one of the first things we did was play pool. We remember the day we met. But a lot of things sort of disappear per standard human memory.

I would suggest only using photos of people she can easily identify.

Also about remembering things that happened 4 years ago... I don't think it would be wrong to say "Sorry, I don't remember exactly. It was almost 4 years ago", rather than make something up and then not match with what she says.

Our IO only really wanted to see that we had pics and to take one for the file. She didnt even look through a single album (we had brought 3!!). As for questions she was after how we met and when we decided to get married.

Oh and just some supporting evidence too, but nothing terribly difficult.

We had our interview yesterday.

Our IO didn't even ask to see any pictures. All those hours that we spent putting it together... All that hard work.... :crying: She didn't even ask for any documentation other than co-mingling of finances.... Those painstaking Hours of work.... :crying:

But we were Approved!!! :D
