My husband spent 18 hours stuck at JFK because his flight was cancelled from there to Detroit. It was his first time flying , he was confused and exhausted. When he finally arrived in Detroit the following day, they lost his luggage ( which had most of his medication in it ). Days later it was finally found. They never gave a reason for the cancelled flight. They never offered him a hotel . Welcome to America.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Coming back from Jamaica one trip, got stuck in Cincinnati for a 7 hour layover due to inclimate weather. I had 2 bottles of rum cream and a bottle of Tequila. Made some new friends in the smoking lounge and had a lot less to carry on the plane. We emptied all 3 bottles. Nicest layover and ensuing plane ride I ever had.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

On my way to Barranquilla, my flight out of LAX to Dallas/Ft.Worth was 2 hrs. late, causing me to spend 22 hours in Miami - at MIA International (love the name).

Good thing the airport has its very own hotel located in the American Airlines terminal.

:dance: I used my flight insurance to pay most of the $175 room charge, and I slept 16 hrs.:thumbs:

Anyone else with similar stories?

On my way back home from Panama,I missed the plane to Boston in Ft.Lauderdale.When I arrived at the gate I asked the girl"what happened to my plane?" She then replied "There it goes."

Last year I was on my way home from Morocco and had just 1 hour to change planes at Heathrow. Even though the connecting flight was in the same terminal, I still had to go through security and by the time I got through that my flight was closed. But BA was cool, they put me up in a hotel right by the airport (209 pounds per night!) and all I had to pay for was the beer.

oooh how long u got lol

i lost my luggage im thinking bout 4-5 times lost count, was delighted if i managed to get all my luggage off the carousel,

missed 2 flights,

missed 1 connection and they wanted me to spend 24 hours in airport with 2 kids so i flew back to charlotte first thing in morning spent 12 hours on the airport seats in departure lounge that was too long werent gonna spend another 12 hours there

once went to get my connecting flight back to Uk after one of my missed flights, they booked me onto Manchester NH USA instead of Manchester UK had to get flight to London Heathrow and then a domestic flight to Manchester,

Sat on a plane for bout 4 hours cos they were ready for departure and the air con broke, they made us stay on the plane then after all that waiting we changed planes.

On my way to Barranquilla, my flight out of LAX to Dallas/Ft.Worth was 2 hrs. late, causing me to spend 22 hours in Miami - at MIA International (love the name).

There is NOTHING international about MIA. An international airport that basically shuts down at 10:00 p.m., with barely a coffee shop open and you can't even sit at yuor gate until after 5:00 in the morning is #######!

Oh and don't forget that by 10:15pm all of the available comfy seats will be taken by people familiar with the airport and they will be completely covered with blankets, their suitcases at their sides. The place is dirty, smelly, and just plain nasty. What a dump!

But on to missed flights... I missed a flight out of Tallahassee because I was sitting in the bar  And this was at a time that the airport only had 2 gates... I saw my plane taxi in and taxi back out.... I had to wait 24 hours till the next flight out...
