Hey all,

Luckily, our petition was approved only a day after we received the new status "Response to RFE received". It's is now approved.

As I understand, the application will now go to NVC.

Question 1: does the new status on uscis, "Current Status: Approval notice sent.", mean that the it is now sent to NVC, or will this come under a separate status?

... I guess we should start preparing stuff for the consulate as soon as possible.

Question 2: what documents are the ones that usually take time, and should be prepared beforehand at the highest priority.

-- finally,

Question 3: for the affidavit of support, she (petitioner), started paid residency in medicine this month. she will receive her first salary end of this month. her income is well above poverty line, so it should be no problem, but i was wondering about the fact that she has JUST STARTED work. will it be a problem? should we opt for co-sponsor? or will her first pay slip, along with a letter from hospital stating that she will be receive that income for the following years be enough?

Thanks a lot for all the help. I hope this whole thing becomes to get clarified, so that i can have a good head start.

Cheers!

Congrats on the approval! I don't know the answers to your questions because I'm still waiting for my approval. I was just wondering when did CSC receive your petition? They've had mine since March 11 and I just want a better idea of how much longer I have to wait. Thanks!

Hey all,

Question 1: does the new status on uscis, "Current Status: Approval notice sent.", mean that the it is now sent to NVC, or will this come under a separate status? Means exactly that...approval. This will be your NOA2 hardcopy. Don't lose this, you'll need it for your AOS process.

... I guess we should start preparing stuff for the consulate as soon as possible.

Question 2: what documents are the ones that usually take time, and should be prepared beforehand at the highest priority.

-- finally, You'll recieve a checklist for Packet 3, items to bring with you to the interview, etc. Maybe ask others who have gone through the same consulate you will be interviewing in to give you some insight. The Guides offer a wealth of information and can be found at the top of this website.

I'm thinking that by the time you have an interview this should be ok...however, she should get a letter from her employer stating what her position is, amt of pay, how long she has been there, etc. Some people in this position secures a co-sponsor just in case, as a back up. Not saying you need to do that, just what some have done. As always this is just my opinion.

Thanks a lot for all the help. I hope this whole thing becomes to get clarified, so that i can have a good head start.

Cheers!

Congratulations to you both!!!!

Based on your first question, it appears that the USCIS website shows your petition was approved. Were you signed up for email notifications? If so, did you receive the "approved" email? Have you received the hard copy NOA2 via snail mail yet?

Just curious as to how well the USCIS system is working at the moment.......as if that's an indication of how it might be working 5 minutes from now! ;)

Thanks and congrats again!!!
