It is needed for the interview but I think it always helps the case to send in whatever proof you have for AOS. However, most people applying for AOS don't have extensive relationship proof like bills, etc., in both names. I also wonder if couples who send in more proof have more of a chance to get approved without an interview. :innocent:

Not necessarily, i don't think you need proof for filing. As far as i am aware, i don't think majority of the people on here sent any additional proof other than the documents requested.

Like always! Case by case. K1 should have pictures of their wedding. K3 also. CO at our AOS interview [K3] spent a bit of time checking out our wedding pictures. Surprised me as I thought the wedding pictures were only used for the embassy interview. Even questioned us about the wedding which had been 1 1/2 years earlier.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

We sent in our marriage proof like pics, bank account, affidavits, etc...Because it clearly says on there to send one or more of the following of bona fide relationship, etc and so on.......... And we got our interview notice pretty quick, our interview is only 4 months after we sent the AOS packet!

We only sent our marriage certificate as proof of the marriage. I believe the pictures and other pieces of evidence as proof of a genuine marriage will be asked during the interview, if any.

Goodluck!

Instruction on the 485, suggests certain pieces of evidence that shows the bona fides of the marriage. I can confirm to you all, that during my AOS interview, I saw in our file, all the bona fides we sent. They certainly keep it, and dear say, even weight the evidence to see whether or not the marriage is true.

Our DO interviewer was very easy going, and told us that we made the job "easier" for him, because we had included a very complete application.

Appended to our AOS, we included the following with joint names: various utility bills, lease, and insurance.

Personally I followed the filling in guides that are provided on the USCIS site - I went through them systematically and dealt with each of them individually ( though I did send them all in together ) refering to the USCIS guide for each item...I sent no proof other than what they asked for.

We have just recently had our interview - the officer had the file in front of him, intially he asked for ID, swore us in, asked a couple of the yes no questions, asked how we had met, asked to see proof of joint bills etc, was able to provide joint banks statement, he then flicked to the file - confirmed where we got married, and that i had one daughter and confirmed her name. Then he stated he was happy to approve the petition, he needed 2 passport photo's of both me and my husband ( I dont recall seeing that requirement anywhere) and we were able to get those done and return and hand them in to the immigration officer same morning.

He didnt ask to see any pictures of the wedding which suprised me - I suspect each experience has slight variations and vary enormously, but i certainly saved my evidence for the interview which took 10 mins max ( if that )
