Hey back off lady she's entitled to her beliefs and opinions just as much as you are.

First of all, "your religion" isn't the only religion that forbids pre marital sex, but who gives a #######, because it is not "God's Laws" as you call them, that hold up in a court of law.

She never said it was, and she gives a ####### obviously.

Lastly, go check the definition of "pagan" again, before you start lumping in Buddhism and other types of religions

We are entitled to our own opinions correct. I think it is pretty much safe to say that she left herself open with those kind of comments. Where the hell do you draw the line at someone giving opinion and someone who could potentially put her own daughters well being at risk? Shall we all turn a blind eye? Come on, any parent comes upto you and says that they are or would think about possibly allowing her daugher to marry and start a family at the age of 11 you are going to be concerned for arent you? No one can sit there and honestly tell me that if they heard that, that they wouldn't be concerned.

Morally as adults, if we see a child that could be in harms way then we have a responsibility to do something. Or let me guess..you think we should just be like the old days and turn a blind eye to other ppls affairs and let them carry on with what they think is right by their daughter...nevermind it being illegal?!

I never said that you stated your opinion. And I never belitled her one bit. Nor was I belligerant. Belligerant means to wage war. I merely stated what is on my mind when I read that some mother is willing to even consider letting her 11 year old daughter get married and have children. And I am quite sure that I said what other ppl are thinking as well not that that matters. If she didn't want to get a response like that then she shoudnt be posting said comments. You are right, this is an adult forum. I spoke like and adult. Standing up for what I know and every other sane person on here knows is right. If you take offense to the way I spoke then don't bother reading anymore posts from me. SOmeone puts themselves out there like that, then by all means you should expect responses like mine. I made a thread a few weeks ago and just because I didn't word something right, I was flamed for days on it. But hey, I took it and apologised. But I realised that they were right. I agree that there are 30 year old women that should not be parents..and that yes there are some 16 year old girls that are more mature then someone who is say 21...but does that mean we should allow them to do what they want or what they feel is right for them just because they seem mature??? They still need to live life and to grow and be children. Save the adult life for later. That is the problem with society...we as a collective whole allow our children to grow up to fast. Damn straight I am going to speak my mind on this. Because my kids see what is going on and it puts thoughts into their own heads. Like I need that.

I understand where she is comming from about the body being ready once it starts menstruating, but I also agree, being a pagan and trying to understand nature, that it is about survival. Since we know scientifically that a woman's best age for bearing children is about mid-twenties? There is just no need...

We are in a wonderful situation that our children can afford to be children (they just don't want to? ) . I don't think you have to be just mentally prepared to have a child, I think a person needs to be mentally prepared to have sex also.

It is a different topic really, one of my other major gripes is the effect media is having as bad rolemodels for children. I get upset when sex is everywhere you see these days

First of all, I think you all need the definition of pagan.

Basically, pagan means "other". Both Buddhism and Hinduism can both be classified as a pagan religion, depending on how deep you dig into the meaning of "other".

And the people on this thread who are attacking others simply because their beliefs are different? Get the hell (no pun intended) over yourself. You are not 100% without a doubt correct in all aspects of life. Do you know what culture is? You are all basing the fact that eleven year olds are not mature (physically or spiritually) enough to bear children on western culture. Go study some world history before shoving your western views down everyone's throats.

Reba!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! Never thought to see a CR around here! I've been looking into Celtic Reconstructionism for quite a while now. It is a path I tread down in parallel to a long forgotten form of (or to some, perhaps a blasphemous form of) Christianity, which naturally forms a spiritual contradiction in my mind. I don't fit quite in with the CR's because I believe in one Divine God (and perhaps one Divine Mother Goddess, still trying to figure that one out) as well as many smaller gods/goddesses. However, I do not worship these smaller Gods/esses because they are not God. I give them respect, but I do not worship them. CR's don't believe in one Supreme God/ess-being, and Christians do not believe in smaller gods. Therefore, I'm stuck in a rut.

It's not Thai culture for sure... it used to be long time ago.. but not in a today's world..

the reason for those girls who married young (may be 14-15) is because the family cannot afford her and basicly think that her husband will help them finacially (they do not willingly married out of love - and do not have a chioce). and also to have children young because the the children would help them in the farm..but because it's not legal today - the poor people just send the girls to the city instead - and I dont mean all.. just seen it often in the news - and that's the problem we r trying to solve.

So culture changes all the time too.. because it's a culture long time ago doesnt mean it is alright today

And as for "Pagan" I never been call or consider myself a Pagan before coz i'm a Buddhist. it's kinda feel weird just to call the other religian that is not christian something else than the name of that religian.. well.. i guess it's just the name.. it's just very weird to me...
