ipod or zune?

I'm planning to buy a new music/vid device in a few weeks and everyone I know that uses an ipod swears by it and everyone I know that uses a zune swears by it. What do you recommend?

haha that's what everyone who has either one has told me. I have an ipod right now but I'm not completely attached to it. That's why I'm trying to decide if I should switch to a zune or just get a new ipod.

Everyone has those - I wouldn't get either.

Here's what I have - its one of the best reviewed MP3 players on the market - and it has the longest rated battery life of any other player (50 hours on music alone), you can rip DVDs to it and you don't need to bother with all that iTunes, Windows Media Player DRM #######. It also has an SD card slot so you can also expand the memory

I won't buy an iPod on general principle

Before that I had an iRiver H140 (up until I dropped it and it died), which was better than the equivalent generation iPod at the time. iRiver also do the Clix 2, which is also very well reviewed - though you're not likely to see Cowon or iRiver stuff in your local Best Buy.

BTW I almost bought this, but it was canned at the same time that the Zune came out. This player was the prototype for the Zune, but it was discontinued when Toshiba got the contract with Microsoft to develop the Zune, much to the annoyance of people who had bought it - as Tech support for the device went out the window as well.

Well you wouldn't - the best place for all of this stuff is online. I pretty much only shop at amazon these days.

I guess its an appropriate moment to mention I did purchase my Wii Fit game at Best Buy since they were the only ones that stocked it two weeks ago in town... Me the "hypocrite" liberal now!
