I am a little confused with my AOS Application!!!

Got an email from CRIS today. I don't know if it's good news or not. I mean it sounds a bit strange to me. Most AOS applicants undergo an interview process before they are given their permanent residence card, right? How come I got this mail? I filed AOS last December and my Biometrics was done last January. They moved my case to California and recently I got an update that they are gonna send me a permanent residence card? ANyone who knows more about this please? I'm confused. Below are the 2 email notices from USCIS.*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On May 15, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. The majority of applications transferred to California get approved without interview. You should received your permanenet resident card within the next few weeks.
