Because we received our interview notice (April 23) 2 days after the interview was scheduled (April 21) we decided to run to Des Moines yesterday for an infopass. On a whim I decided to grab all of our files just in case they could do the interview that day. They decided to do the AOS interview on-the-spot. That was great to have it so quickly, but sucked because we weren't as prepared. The officer said he was going to recommend that we be granted the greencard but he needed to run it by his supervisor on Monday. He said we will either receive the greencard or a denial letter in the mail in 2 weeks. So we sit and wait for a looooooooooong two weeks.

Is there any way to check before 2 weeks to see if we were approved or not? Sitting on pins and needles as to whether we did the right thing by jumping at the chance for an interview or should we have said we'd like to be rescheduled later and take the chance at it being months down the road... :(

There are certain offices where the immigration officer always says he has to check with a supervisor before you are approved. So don't worry, it's common.

The only way to find out earlier is if your case appears online, some people receive a "welcome to the US" kind of announce when they are approved.

Good for you that you brought everything to the infopass and got an interview on the spot.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.

07.06.07: Civil Wedding

07.17.2008 AOS approved with interview. It took 367 Days!

11.08.08: Big family wedding

09.18.09-10.03.09: First trip to France with Hubby

04.19.10: Package sent to Vermont

04.21.10: Delivered in Vermont

04.22.10: NOA date

04.23.10: Check cashed

05.17.10: Received biometrics appointment letter

06.07.10: Biometrics Appointment

06.26.10: Touched

If yo have enough evidence, you are okay. And remember at the AOS stage most people have very little evidence. Its a good sign that they were very accommodating and interviewed you. I think you are about to get an email saying you were approved. Good Luck

We already proved that we are a real couple for the k-1 petition and interview. What are they looking for with the AOS interview? Is it similar?

What are some reasons for denial of AOS?

What are some reasons for denial of AOS?

They will be looking for photo's, copy's of bills in both names, joint bank accounts things that show you both live at the same address.
