Well my SO called CSC last Wednesday and was told that we should get approval within one to two days and if not to call back today........ I was so happy !!!

Well as nothing came he called back today to be told to wait at least another 30 days before calling again !!!!!!!!! :(

I am so upset and depressed ...he called me from work but I will tell him to call congressman if we do not have anything by next Wednesday ...

Well update he just called me back and he will try to contact Harry Reid who is senator........do you think it is good idea ?

I'm sorry you still haven't heard anything.

I don't think you would be out of line by contacting your/his representative. This link will help you find that person.

much luck to you!

I was told by a friend who knows a CSC employee from his country that they do track how many times you call and if you "abuse" the "system" your file is placed on hold for X days. I guess the thought is that it will keep people from thinking that calling a lot will help them get approved quicker

The CSC is processing K1's for late October and early November right now. So, you should be receiving your NOA2 soon. That may be why they said not to call back for 30 days.

Look at Igor's list and you'll see a few other couples from October who recently got their NOA2. (Robbie and Jillymae, Natasha and Bob).

Igor's list for the CSC

I'd wait a while longer before contacting your Senator.

I remember reading a blog written by a former processor that contacting a senator or congressman could be helpful and speed things along but the advice was to wait until your petition has been with USCIS longer than the posted processing times. When I checked the USCIS website it appears as though the are just barely getting going on the middle October dates so I would try to hang in there at least a couple weeks.

My thought is that it will mean more to the Senator if you can honestly say that your case has already taken over 6 months to be processed. Then the Senator will know it is urgent and maybe be more apt to respond. I do think they hear from a lot of people so they might prioritize people's cases based on the amount of time the couple has been waiting.

These are just my own thoughts. You can take them or leave them. I know waiting is easier said than done. I wish you the best of luck.....HANG IN THERE and STAY STRONG!!!

OUR STORY and TIMELINE:

07/05: Jose and I met while I was living in Costa Rica!

10/07: We filed our application (I-129F)

02/08: Petition is approved!

03/08: CR Embassy receives our file

04/08: Jose's interview in San Jose, Costa Rica (April 25th). VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

05/08: May 14th Jose arrives in at JFK, May 16th he arrives in California!!!

07/08: Married!

08/08: AOS/EAD/AP paperwork submitted

08/08: Biometrics Appointment

12/08: Interview for Adjustment of Status, very easy and all went well!

We expect to have Jose's greencard by February!
