Ok have an odd question here and not sure if it should be in this section or not. I was previously married to a US citizen. In the past, approx a year ago or more, she said she would call immigration to prevent me entering the States again. Now i dont know if she has, will or not call them. She is a strange person to say the least and its the type of stunt she could do. I dont want any problems for when we file the K1. Will the USCIS take any action if she has called? Theres nothing she can say to them but all i know is that shes a manipulator and a liar. Sorry if this is off topic folks, just wanted some views on this one.

I'm no expert and I don't know how much trouble she could cause. However, I have an opinion.

The USCIS is not easy to get through to. She may want to cause trouble, but might not be willing to put a lot of effort into it. Additionally, government representatives are very much 'by-the-book'. I don't think hearsay or the ranting of a spurned woman are going to get very far.

Just my opinion... There is a real possibility I'm wrong.

IF you have nothing to hide then don't worry about it.

I am sure USCIS has had spurned ex mates call before, and I am sure they are fully aware of people calling just to start trouble.

Ye i know. Ever since i came back home to the UK she said she would do everything in her power so that i couldnt enter the States again. I just dont want any raised flags if she has. It was a mistake of marriage on both parts and thats why i left. Last thing i need is her saying that im marrying another US citizen just to get a " Green Card "

Easiest way to stop someone is by having restraining order in affect. That shows up in the immigration computer at entry points.

I hope she doesn’t think of that.

Using the judicial system for personal revenge without justification is a malicious waste of our tax dollars.

Yes but she would need proof of something. Whether its abuse or stalking etc. Find that weird.

Well, to be on the safe side, I would share as little with your ex about your visa plans as possible. Hopefully she doesn't already know. And unless the two of you have children together, it's none of her business anyways.

We have the same worry, that my vindictive ex is going to somehow mess up the visa process (by like, reporting him to be a terrorist or something). So he has no idea we've filed for one yet. And for added safety, he has no idea what my SO's real name is. We make sure to keep that under wraps. Hehe.

However, the morning after we got the NOA2, my ex called me up saying he had had a dream and wanted to know if there was something I needed to tell him. He said that in the dream I got remarried. I of course told him I didn't! Weird.

I agree with this completely.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I too am not sure if she could create a problem for you, but like "psiprez" said, don't share your future plans with her. Since you two are no longer friends, I assume you haven't been speaking to her so she is unaware of your plans.

However, if there's a possibility of her creating a problem, I would be more concerned with her contacting the embassy than the USCIS. She might have an easier time convincing them. It's the embassy who wants to disprove your relationship.

She knows about my relationship with Lara. My ex has a vicious streek in her. If she said anything, she would need proof of whatever it is she's going to blab about. I'm not worried about what she says cause i know it will be lies. Im just worried what the Embassy or USCIS believe or take any form of action.

I think it's absolutely fine. I think there are probably more people that marry USCs more than once than you think there are. I've been surprised at the number that pop up on the forums. Like someone else said, they're probably going to be very by the book about it.

And just bonus for you guys, from your timeline you've known Lara for a good while now; if you just 'wanted a greencard' you could have applied ages ago. Plus you're from the UK, which isn't exactly high on the to-be-watched people absolutely desperate to get out of the country list.

Wouldn't worry :)

Unfortunatly, you have no way of knowing about any problem she caused for you until it come up at a visa interview or POE.
