Folks,

I received my approval notice from USCIS but after repeatedly calling NVC, I haven't still gotten mine case number. unfortunately i am unable to get a rep either. I tried at variouos times i.e. early morning as well late in the evening. i'm presently in India and running a good bill trying to reach them.

folks whats teh guestimate for getting a nvc case#? my case was approved on apr 1st 2008 and as per USCIS CSC its been forwarded to NVC right away (might have to take it with a pinch of salt)

any insight or guidance is appreciated.

I think recently there have been delays transferring the case. Last year, it took us a week. But up to a month is not unheard of. I would wait a week and call again. Its not terribly important to have your case number now (but I do understanding wanting to know)...the only thing you can do with it is call the embassy and ask if they received your case.

You right, the best time to call is as soon as they open, or just before close. Be sure to make sure you have the correct times when calling.

My case was approved March 26th. According to USCIS rep. it was forwarded on March 27th together with the hard copy of NOA2 which my husband received in the mail box on March 31st, so I was expecting that the NVC received my case the same day.

I called NVC early this morning and was able to speak with an operator but was surprised when she told me that they haven't received my case yet unfortunately :crying: . That's also my question. More or less how many days from USCIS to NVC and assign a case number????

Goodluck to us!

You have to keep calling. Last year there were people here on VJ who had to wait up to 7 weeks for the USCIS to transfer their cases to the NVC. It's very normal, yet annoying nontheless.

I got couple of friends whose _130 was approved on March 13 and they still don't have NVC case #

So whenever the automated system says that they received it, that is true

you don't have to run high phone bill, they are updating only Tuesday and Saturday
