And within the last hour...

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

Now I can play at the NVC with all the big kids! :energy:

CHD, Jedinite CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!! (F)

We are SO HAPPY FOR YOU !

finally, all these touches with CHD and no touches with jedinite, and that terrible wait is over for you too!

Welcome to the "more civilized" NVC path!

It will be a bit easier and faster, and at least the system there works, more or less.

We were worried about you, felt bad leaving you behind, but now it's over and better days are ahead !

OMG! Guess what?! I finally got approved!!!! WOOHOO wife and I are so excited! I wasn't expecting anything and I haven't been checking these last few days but I logged into USCIS today and it said my file was updated, thought I would have received an e-mail but I didn't. Anyways, checked my case to see if it was just a touch, but it was an approval, now just have to fill out the packet and file more stuff! So damn excited right now. I hope you guys are around the corner too with your apps.

Congratulation jedinite. I got approved the same day (8/11/2008). I was getting tired of checking the status and waiting for the email everyday. It came when I was least expecting it....I was very busy with lots of work-related issues and I logged in my work email and among lots of work-emails, there was an email from USCIS. I opened it and it said the magic words: APPROVAL NOTICE SENT....

Yea it sucks. I tried calling, writing letter, but not surprisingly no real answer.

I am an early March filer at the Vermont. CSC is really doing their job and I think they should be rewarded and the VSC employees should be made to work for $2 an hour because it seems to me that all they do is party and get drunk on their desks and they lose peoples' files.

A-Holes.

Well everyone, here's another CR-1 filer from March '08. We may pursue the K-3 interview she has Tuesday but that's a discussion for another place. Our I-130 paperwork was approved in July, got to the NVC, and the USPO returned it to NVC in August so I couldn't file AOS. But I was able to get them the DS-3032 and pay the initial fee. So now I wait.

Just a reminder, here's what NOT to do when doing this process:

1. Don't give up. After your I-130 is approved and goes to the NVC don't be shy about calling them to check the status. I've done it constantly and found out many things I had to do or could do to move things along and help my wife understand what she received in the mail. As mentioned, the mail sent to me was returned but what was sent to my wife in Czech Republic got there. Go figure.

2. When it says in this website to do things in order, follow that.

3. The NVC is very helpful in most cases if you have changes to your paperwork. In my case my family name had been wrong and would be fixed at adjudication---but with more paperwork to file after I-130 I spoke with someone at NVC and was able to send copies of our passports with our correct names and that saved a lot of issues with DS-3032 and other paperwork.

Patience is more than a virtue, it's a requirement.

Cheers!

We have paid I-864 fee bill and IV fee bill. Affidavit of support package received and going in the mail today. I have been told by NVC operator that the instruction package is on the way.

My questions: Is package 3 sent to the agent or to the beneficiary directly? My wife is still in Uganda and recently moved apartments; how does she notify that she has changed address?

Thanks for any feedback.

I think we should start getting excited when we see the first approvals to people who got 05/7 and 05/8 touches..

That's why I asked if there was any touch. If I see a touch to a person who last got May 08, I will start getting excited!

Comeeee ONNNNNNNNNNN VSC, you can make it! We waited long enough!!!! I WANT my approval before the end of THIS month!!

  • 2 weeks later...

No activity since the initial touch on April 1, 2008. After studying this site and the timelines, it would be naive to expect approval earlier than January 2009. Funny how in March we expected to be approved by September...how things have changed.
