Event Date
Port of Entry : JFK
POE Date : 2010-03-20 Submit Review
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : There was no harassment, but actually too little interactions. I mentioned that we had been married for two years, and my husband should be receiving an IR instead of the Conditional Resident as stated on the VISA stamp. However, the special immigration officer did not pay attention, and did not want to help to change the status. I went over to the original POE officer, and they had a little argument. and the special immigration officer stamping made a few changes on the computer to reflect an Immediate Resident status. We didn't get the SS card automatically mailed as we noted on the original application. We had to go to the SS office and apply for a SS card for my husband.

POE Review: JFK
Event Description
Entry Date : 2010-03-20
Embassy Review : We arrived on the overnight flight from Colombia - Avianca, which arrives around 6 am. We were among the few on the US Citizen line. I pulled my husband on the US Citizen line with me and had no trouble. I was welcome back and my husband was welcomed for the first time.

Once it came to processing the immigration paper there were no harrasment, but actually i would say very interactions/interest. I had mentioned that we had been married for two years, and he should be receiving an IR instead of the CR as stated on the VISA stamp. However, she did not pay attention, and did not want to help to change the status. I went over to the original POE officer, and they(POE Officer & Stamp Lady) had a little argument Thanks to the POE Officer, the stamp lady was forced to act upon our request. The lady stamping made a few changes on the computer to reflect the IR status. We didn't get the SS card automatically mailed as we noted on the original application. We had to go to the SS office and apply for a SS card for my husband.

I recommend you travel with your spouses. My husband was a bit nervous, since he had never traveled to the US. He wouldn't have looked carefully at the stamp.

Good luck on your journey!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
