I've tried to track my petition...NVC said it left May 2...I can't seem to get it tracked...help!

You have to know what day your documents left NVC, ask the operator. Once you`ll gonna find out go on here:

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef and put EXP xx(DATE THAT LEFT nvc) MAY 2008A and should work.

Ours documents left Apr 17th and Lima embassy received on Apr 21st.

For anybody new stumbling upon this DHL tracking thread, I wanted to share my methods and findings.

My package left NVC on 08 May 2008. This is what I did on the site http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

In the "reference" box, I put EXP 07 MAY 2008A (notice that's the day before they said it left)

They must generate their reference and do the packing the day before pick-up because EXP 08 MAY...didn't work.

Below in the "shipment pick up date range" I put May 8 2008 to May 8 2008 (I wanted to see things leaving NVC on only May 8)

Then click the red arrow that says "track"

There were three pages of shipments, so be sure and click "next" which indicates if there are more pages.

I noticed that there were 67 shipments leaving NVC on May 8, but each was to a different country (no duplicates) which tells me that they combine petitions going to the same Embassy. Looking at details on some shipments, the London package was 3 pounds and Manila was 40 pounds, so there must have been many petitions from Manila going together.

I did the same steps above for the previous day (May 7) and there were 16 countries, but they were all different from the May 8 countries. Thats 83 different countries in 2 days, with multiple petitions in many boxes! It kinda gives you an idea that many more petitions are being processed than just the timelines we stare at here on VJ. They may have some order in their mail room where different countries go out on different days of the week. It's just my speculation for what it's worth.

Ok so I just checked this tracking thing out.....just for kicks...cause my status at NVC just changed to complete yesterday. Well low and behold....there was a shipment that went out to Jamiaca yesterday!!!! I cannot beileve how fast this all is :o I am not for sure that this shipment has my case in it or not, but I know that there are not many of us Jamaica filers at NVC...at least on VJ so I am praying that shipment had me in it. It weighed 9 pounds so it was heavy enough to have a couple files in it. WOO HOO!!!

I am soooo excited!!

For CR1/IR1 visas you need to be scheduled interview first and after that NVC will send your documents. ;)

OH. Well that sucks. So after I get an interview scheduled what do I need to track the shipment for? once the interview is scheduled thats it for me....they can send it to Jamaica in one hour or 100 hours, haha.

Our doc`s were sent in 3 days after we have been given interview date, and I did found out from the automated system what day our doc`s left the NVC, "...The NVC has completed the case and forwarded it to the Embassy or Consulate in Lima on April 17th...",when I put 17th on dhl.com didnt worked, day after 18th it poped up showing that on 17th case left the NVC. Same day on 18th I received the appointment letter as well.

Thanks Nich-Nick!. It is very helpful.

in my opinion it was not that reliable because according to the nvc agent my packets left apr 29 and when i did the EXP 29 APR 2008A yes i show 1 result of the papers, however according to one of our vj member in the philippines also said her papers left same day as mine so how come only one set has been sent on our consulate and when i tried to verified with us-manila embassy the lady whos taking care of the paper work said our papers has not arrived yet.. :crying:

This is all very good to know, my case is right in line with Marlita, entered into the system on the 6th, completed on the 8th and it seems like quite a few others have that exact time frame. Hopefully we all get cases forwarded to our embassy sometime this week since the second week of may is the scheduling week. Then we can track it. I kinda hope they already sent it and it's in with the shipment sent out today but the automated system won't update till tomorrow, hehe. I know it's far fetched but still! :)

I'm hoping mine is sent out too!!

Marlita, my case was completed on April 25th. I called the NVC this morning and was told my the operator that the cases were scheduled last week. I asked her if my case was scheduled and she said unfortunatley not. (and by the way she told me that those cases were for June). I then asked her if there was a possibility that i would be scheduled for July and she said that there was always that possibility.
