Man, that's shocking. It has little musical merit and to be honest, if a group of illegal immigrants were debasing my national anthem like that I'd be extremely irritated.

However, my husband says that he doesn't have a problem with it, because it bears so little resemblence to The Star-Spangled Banner. His exact words were "come on, it's too cheesy and melodramatic to be taken seriously".

yeah.....something always gets lost in translation. spanish is a very emotional language and many times we don't really have english equivalents

am i missing something? when did english stop being the primary language in this country? i know that sounds harsh but i feel if you live in a country for good.. no matter what country... you need to learn that country's language and adapt.. not make everyone else adapt to you

An English-speaking American artist (Wyclef Jean) contributed to that song. And I don't see the song as an attempt to make anyone adapt to anything...it's their way of saying "we love this country too!"

isn't it kind of nice.....I mean c'mon....they're not singing the Mexican national anthem.....singing it in Spanish is a tribute but reflecting their culture as well.....I like it

dont want everyone hating on me... i understand that there are bi-lingual families and thats cool. what bothers me is that there are those (at least here in ny) who dont even attempt to try to learn english.. its just assumed that there will be translations available for them... go to the dmv and you will find leaflets and even the written tests available in spanish, chinese and russian.. last time i checked street signs (not road signs which are universal) were written in english..

i have no problem with the song itself but i read someone that someone suggested it be sung alongside the normal anthem.. showing pride in your country is a privilege and a wonderful thing but our original anthem should stand alone

not so sure, it sounds wrong to me.. I don't go to another country and sing their song in english. I did not try to sing the Thai national anthem in english. I learned it in Thai!!!
