I sent the packet as certified mail so that the receiver would have to sign for the pkg. I was able to track this process on the USPS website. I sent the RFE the same way. It usually only takes a few days for them to sign it as received.

Hello All March filers!!

I rceived my interview letter on Saturday and my interview date is scheduled on August 20 in Phoenix AZ. In the letter it is saying that" Notice for Initial Interview for AOS". Is it eveyone getting in their letter? Just curious? Please lets share how to prepare for interview. Thanks.

I was really confused about the "initial interview" wording on the letter too. Ramzis and I weren't sure what we were going for, but as it turned out it was our interview for permanent resident and his green card. They ask alot of "stock" "check-off" type questions. They really want to see JOINT stuff, i.e., our health and dental card with both our names on it, joint checking/savings account. I kept saying to the guy that Ramzis has only been here 3 months, so we haven't had time to buy "stuff" together, but I showed him what we had. I had the shepherd from our church write a letter saying how we are involved in a life group and are the host home for a bible study. This was some proof that we live at the same address. These are the things they seemed to want the most. Hope this helps! At last, the guy says "I'm approving your status as a permanent resident, congratulations". That was it. Because we are married less than two years upon getting PR status, you have to apply to have "conditional status" removed 90 days before your PR card expires (it is good for two years from the date of approval). You have all the benefits and privileges of a permanent resident in any case.

The ever patient and extremely happily married, Alane & Ramzis

Me too!!!! When I called USCIS the lady told me that more than likely we would have an interview because it (K-1 transitioning to AOS) is considered a family based application and they do interviews for those types. But, I have seen many people on here receive their green card without an interview so I don't think she is exactly right. Well, you (Mossycouple) have proven that!

There are many who have gone the K-1 to AOS route that got green cards without interviews. Unfortunately, most at USCIS and the service centers give incorrect info. I just wish they'd touch ours so I know it's not lost again :(

You are so right! My husband keeps telling me to just forget about it and let it be a surprise. Get this, the paperwork is for him! I am actually more excited about it then he is. So I think I am going to take a break from checking the web and just let things fall into place. Congrats again!

I am praying and praying that I get the EAD "card production ordered" email today because we are on day 101 after submitting the AOS with no EAD approval and if we don't get it today I know with the holiday there isn't much chance to hear again til Monday.

Send some prayers our way! Today is also the 1 year anniversary of when we arrived here from Canada for him to visit my family and where this alllllll started.

Thanks :)

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.
