I hate that too if they put their seats back so I don't have anymore space. Extremely rude!!!! Next time I fly I will be 4 months pregnant which gives me enough reason to speak up and make them sit straight like everyone else... It is so rude to move the seat back in economy class - purely egoistic and so inconsiderate!

Rude for putting a seat back? Really? Then why is it even possible?

Economy class seats allow enough room for the average person. But if you need more, go for the higher class.

Yeah, I had no idea people found this to be rude. Sorry, I do it all the time - I thought that's what they're there for!

I'm tall enough not to have enough room, and I book aisle seats already as window seats would be terrible. I find economy class extremely unspacious, and I don't have $4000 for a business class ticket. I mostly fly with Lufthansa and I see very little people pushing the seat back. I find it rude and I was brought up not to do as you take away space from people who paid the same price as you did - so you can at least give them the same space you have!

Anyway, I mostly book emergency exit seats... This time I couldn't - so at least the pregnancy should make people sensitive enough to be considerate of my request.

If you put your seat back too, there is no loss of space.

But for long flights, I prefer to fly on airlines that offer a premium economy class. Its too hard to sleep in most airlines economy class seats.

Drink sufficient alcohol to put you asleep for the entire journey. And don't put your seat back!! ;)

i only think it's rude when the person doesn't care when your coffee spills into your lap when they do it....

they could at least give a warning!!

::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

Prescription downers! Ativan is my favorite (I'm a nervous flyer). I take two with beer or wine. It usually knocks me out for a few hours. I'd never be able to sleep otherwise. I think most doctors will prescribe a limited number of pills (like, a bottle of 12 or something) if you request them for a long trip.

what i find rude is when ur trying to get ur luggage in the over head ben ur only 4 ft 10 tall and the people are pushing to get past u into the row of seats ur trying not to block while reaching the over head ben ( i have been told off many times) then this same set of people what were so much in a hurry when the plane stops and you want to get off everyone around them is standing and getting their luggage down and getting off the plane but they stay in their seats until everyone is gone......short of walking over them to reach the isle there is no way to get past them so u end up setting and being the last off the plane now this would not be so bad but if u have a very short time to make ur connecting flight u end up running thru the airport to make that flight

If your not nervous about flying, something like Tylenol PM might be enough.

once again a shoulder charge is necessary in this situation or push them out of your way but pretend it's an accident! :)

Well, it depends on the plane really. I've been on planes where the tray moved back as the seat moved back. I've also been in planes where the tray stays in place regardless of how the seat moves. But either way, if the seat doesn't move forward as it moves back there is a loss a space and you may not want to move yours back, therefore you have less space to move around. It isn't too bad if you are sitting but it makes it reallyyy hard to get up and down if you're constantly having to lean around someone who has their seat back. I think the whole leaning the seat back thing is a pointless feature that should be gotten rid of - you aren't far back enough to help sleep and all it does is typically piss of the person behind you.

If you are on an airplane sitting next to someone who irritates you follow these instructions:

1. Quietly and calmly open up your laptop case.

2. Remove your laptop.

3. Start it up

4. Make sure the person who is annoying you can see the screen.

5. Close your eyes, tilt your head up to the sky and move your lips as if you are praying

6. Then run this screen.

He will either shut up or move after he regains composure.

OMG, that's hilarious!

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Another tall girl? Right on! :) Emergency row seats are the best, if I cant get one.. Im simply hating life for the whole flight. I lucked out on the flight home from JO, got upgraded and sat in business class.. I never knew I could sit on an airplane (not in the E row) and not have my knees touch the back of the seat in front of me lol

P.S- if you dont already know, check bulkhead seats if the E row isnt available.
