Hi Everyone,

I just received a letter yesterday, stating I have a local office interview at the LOS ANGELES OFFICE.. FINALLY, something will get done that day.. it is scheduled for February 21 at 1PM.. :thumbs: I hear that they can make the decision that day and all they are looking for is more evidence " for an ongoing marital relationship"... hope something good comes out of all this.. :innocent::innocent:

I-130 STAGE 1 : 533 days - 1 year 6 months (4/16/2007 to 9/22/2008)

Priority Date I-130 : 4/16/2007 ( 533 days , APPROVED 9/22/2008)
Transferred to local office based on "security checks" : 11/27/2007
wrote hundreds of letters - received letter from FBI Records Management Chief stating no security checks
local office interview : 2/21/2008 - brought my parents too (result : you will get approval within 2-3 weeks)
5/2/2008 - (lawsuit) Writ of Mandamus - OFFICIAL DATE (7/29/2008)
9/22/2008 - CALL AND EMAIL COPY OF APPROVAL NOTICE FROM LAWYER

Thanks everyone for your support.. :thumbs: It really means a lot!! :dance: :dance: About the local interview, I had prepared some stuff last time I went (hoping for an interview that time.. on December 26).. I went with my dad, just so with his presence, it would state that the relationship is real.. but they said my case got transferred to NBC.. so that ended that adventure... so I had prepared lots of stuff in advance, which was good for me..

This time, both my parents are going to support me (my dad is a good talker).. I know what the local office should consists (based on I-485 interviews.. I know they aren't the same, but it should be close).. basically anyone with this LOCAL OFFICE TRANSFER means that they are suspicious of your "ongoing marital relationship".. I guess they need more proof that it wasn't a one-night stand or something.. For evidence, I am going to bring a whole backpack (maybe two) worth of stuff...

These are some of the stuff I will bring to "overwhelm" them (all these records will be updated to February 2008 when I have them next month):

1) Emails (from 5/2006 - 2/2008 ==> 21 months, should be good enough) -- about 200 to 300.. there's way more, but that would be too heavy, hehe...

2) Phone records (15 "home" AT&T statements + Skype records from 10/06 to 2/08 -- 16 months)

3) Pay stubs (13 pay stubs from my government work -- also meet their stupid minimum financial requirements by far) If I don't meet them, then half of the country doesn't =)

this is all just 1 folder.. so a total of 6 folders...

4) copy of I-130, copy of G-325A (both) , copy of Marriage certificate, copy of single status, copy of martial relationship (all notarized)

5) copy of I-129F, copy of G-325A (both)

6) Picture Albums (5 of them -- total about 500 pictures, including wedding studio, wedding ceremony, wedding party, including family members from her side and both parents and us in the same picture, lots and lots for them...)

7) "EVIDENCE" FOLDER (containing wedding invitation, airline ticket copies (with both our names), the honeymoon tour information, Western Union (about 20 "wire" statements, and 20 "receive" statements), receipts for wedding rings, wedding ceremony, and other stuff too)...

and a couple of other things I forgot.. is this a bit much?? haha... Bring it on!! Everyone tells me not to be so mad at them.. because we are at their mercy.. I say "screw that".. this is a invite to war on February 21!! They called the meeting place and time and I'm bringing the ammunition!! :devil: :devil:

I was going to go back at the end of March to visit her again.. but if I can get approved before then, that would be great.. I would cancel and wait for her final visa interview in China.. man, this adventure is tough stuff.. it's so hard just to even get approved.. and that means nothing until you can finally get the consulate interview approved.. :yes: but I won't give up until that... there's still lots of fight left here.. even the worst case scenario I already told her.. I would just go back to live with her in China.. that's a big sacrifice on my part because I have a government job.. =) jobs where you are lazy and get paid a lot, haha... but seriously, this looks like a good step towards us being together here.. :thumbs:

Any action is generally a good sign. I've only seen a couple cases go to local USCIS offices for interview. Both cases were for additional scrutiny of bona fides. Neither OP gave enough specifics about their circumstances to provide much for us to go on but both were denied for lack of bona fides. Neither came back with any reason for the additional investigation or any explanation for why they thought USCIS took this course. If I were you, I would prepare with the idea in mind that the validity of your relationship is being questioned based on something in your past, perhaps related to your own or a former spouse or fiance's immigration.

We might be of some help in the preparation if you can think of any reason why your case may be facing this kind of special scrutiny.

Case Complete : 8/25/2013

"Ready for Interview" (Ready to wait for 1-3 Months, this is official NVC letter transfer date) : 9/9/2013

DHL Tracking : arrived 9/24/2013

P4 Letter : 11/21/2013

Interview Date : 12/9/2013, originally 12/3, stupid lawyer filled out her dad's passport number wrong..

Interview Passed : 12/9/2013

Visa "Issued" on CEAC : 12/10/2013
