Welcome and good luck to you!! My niece's name is Sian- it's a beautiful name!

Howdy!

Does she pronounce it the Welsh way as well? ("Sharn" for those who aren't up on their Welsh...lol)

and Thanks to everyone for the replies.

Siân owns her house, so she's going to be daring and put it on the market in May. If it sells before the visa is approved, she'll rent an apartment for a while, I guess. While she is doing that, I'm working 6 days per week and trying to get my house in order. I had believed that I would be an eternal bachelor, so I only have one bedroom. What was going to be the library will now be the master bedroom, and my old bedroom downstairs will be Siân's son's room. Normally not a problem except for the fact that there are no walls or ceiling in the soon-to-be-bedroom upstairs. LOL I started gutting it a couple of years ago, then got distracted with other projects. Now I have 5 months or so to get it insulated, walls and ceiling put up, and then do the same to the bedroom downstairs.

Luckily, Siân likes old houses so I don't have to get the entire thing done before she arrives. We'll restore/remodel the kitchen, finish the front room, and expand the bathroom after she arrives. It's going to be a delicate balance between time and accuracy. My house was built around 1840-1855, and I am trying to restore it, not remodel. If any of y'all want to come on over help, you're more than welcome. LOL I'll even provide Guinness!

Larry

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

(Yes, I'm restoring my house..... You can watch that progress also at: www.theoldhousejournal.com)

Well, it's just me - Cian (Larry) doing the talking, but Siân is here in spirit, eh?

Siân and I met last year on a message board. I was a moderator and had been a member of the board for 6 or 7 years; she was a newbie. lol We read each other's posts and developed mutual interest (which we didn't know about at the time...). Later, she joined my message board as well. She asked for permission to access one of the restricted forums, I replied, she replied, ad infinium and we just never stopped talking to each other. We haven't missed a day yet; even when she was in Malta visiting her parents.

Siân (her real name) lives in Sutton, Surrey, England. She flew into CVG (Cincinnati) on April 2nd to visit me. She flew back home on April 13th. She has a 12 year old son (and a job), so 11 days during school's spring break was all she could do. I proposed to her on April 5th while we were out in the middle of the forest, standing on the edge of a cliff. No, it wasn't coersion. LOL She obviously said yes, or I wouldn't be posting on this forum. :P

The I-129F was sent yesterday - Registered - via priority mail, to the Nebraska Service Center. Our countdown has begun.

Larry

you both sound like cool folks....

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
