If you email NVC about choice of agent, you don't need to send scanned letter. Make sure, you email them only after NVC generates the choice of agent.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Just have a quick question for those that have cases with NVC currently. DS-3032 is only generated for the alien right? or is it also generated for the petitioner, too?

For some reason when I read the NVC Process Flowchart for CR-1/IR-1 Visa Applicants, I got the misleading idea that DS-3032 is generated and is sent to both petitioner and alien. It states as follow:

"NVC Generates and sends a copy of the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent form) and the AOS Bill to the petitioner."

"At the same time, NVC generates and sends the DS-3032 to the alien."

I'll have my wife email NVC the Choice of Agent when it's generated for us. The question is, do I also need to email NVC to tell them to send everything to me? Just want to clear up this question that I've for a long time. Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. Beneficiary (my wife) is the only one needed to email back the Choice of Agent, DS-3032, to pick me as an agent. All I need is to pay AOS bill ($70), without sending back or email DS-3032. Nor, I think that also answers your question.

I am not at the NVC yet, but want to be prepared

If beneficiary e-mails the NVC, what do you mean with that statement?

does she scan and e-mail the choice of agent form itself or what is it?

You don't need to scan anything and attach anything with the email. Just email NVC. For details, please read the NVC shortcut.

Many members are having success in emailing the NVC to choose their agent in place of sending in the DS-3032. Expect a confirmation they have processed your choice of agent in about 2 weeks. Sometimes you get an automated response saying they received your email, but I never got that, only the final acceptance email.

Have your foreign spouse send an email to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov with the following contents:

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is ....., my visa case number is #......

Unfortunately I cannot locate my DS-3032 and would like to appoint my husband as my agent of choice to receive all the correspondence from NVC. His name and address is:

......

All mail from the U.S. Department of State concerning my immigration visa application should be send to the address above. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely yours,

Foreign Spouses Name

Logically ( actually not legally)

example:

my wife does not speak English, so I open e-mail account for her(yahoo, hotmail, any...)

I write e-mail for her and send it as it was hers e-mail

they do not know who and from where was it sent

there is no signature or anything else

not legal but I guess a lot people did it
