Got interview date...

Hi all,

I got married in October in the US and filed for AOS. Everything seems to be going according to plan; I got NOAs, a biometric appointment (which I did...), and an interview for later next month. Assuming the interview goes to plan, how soon can I expect to have my greencard? I assume it can't be long off the interview date, but if so, shouldn't I have my EAD/AP already? Most people have those things in hand before their interview no?

I don't know the hard answer to your question but what I do know is that if you get your green card before EAD or AP then the green card ''cancels'' out EAD/AP- you don't need them anymore, so it doesn't matter! And I think it is possible!

EAD and AP usually take 3 months from filling to be obtained. It seems that your case is processed faster than average, so you'll likely have your GC before the rest.

If you are approved at the interview they'll probably tell you that the GC will be in your mail box within 4weeks. Some receive it in less than a week, it depends.

You're lucky to have an interview so soon.

I guess the thing is right now I can't work so I have plenty of time to obsess about things. I haven't seen my family for a very long time, so I'm a little desperate to go "home" for a bit Obviously I don't want to mess anything up. And it's good news I got my interview so early, I'll count myself lucky on that end. Oh well fingers crossed.

We all understand the obsession with obsessing can't be helped. We sit at home, bored stiff, wanting to be productive and work legally, but we have to wait....it's just....well, poopy

Me 2~ Get Stuck in home for 5 mths~ Can't get driving lisence, SSN~

I filled my AOS, EAD N AP on Nov 23, 07. Got the NOA on Dec 4, 07 N the Bio. App. on Dec 15, 07. Then i got the RFE of AOS. I sent it back N check the on-line state, they got it on Jan 28, 08. I got the AOS interview letter today N they schedule us on Apr 3, 08. But i don't get my EAD N AP yet!

they never touched my EAD application (just cashed the check) and I never heard anything about it.

the AP arrived during last week of Jan and the EAD card came on feb 6.. both came earlier than i expected (not that i'm complaining! ) my husband and i went to the SSA and we were told that i will get my SSN in 10 days. can't wait to get a job!

i'm sure yours will arrive soon.. do you get updates on your case thru USCIS? I've got an email from them saying that my EAD card was in production

We filled the same day as U.... but we didn't get the EAD/AP yet... Still waiting... Don't know how long to waiting....
