Hey, it's hard to tell on a cat. But you MUST get them neutered and spayed -- it's time for that anyway. Please please please spay and neuter them soon!

Awww..that makes me feel good now.. I thought I am the only one who can't tell about their gender..

You really need to get both of them to the vets ASAP. By that I mean this week, if possible. Get Tabujet done first (if you have to pick and can't get them done together) because he is going to start wandering (jumping off your balcony and disappearing), spraying and mating with Bruha. You really can't delay this at all, Luz!

I can tell the difference of sex in cats by looking...but then I used to volunteer for a cat charity in the UK, so had to know. Between 1-3 months it can be very difficult to tell, 3 months to 6 months it is much clearer once you know what you are looking for. With boys it is the huge testicles that tend to give it away once they are 6 months plus.

So, phone your vets today if you can and make an appointment. And honestly? I'd separate the two kittys until the operations, just to be safe. Incidentally, they should have had all their shots by now so this will be the ideal time to get that started (this is also VERY important); it's usually started when they are just a few weeks old and onwards - I'm assuming that you haven't had them done yet because I think the vet would have been able to sex the cats easily!

Edit: Male cats are generally friendlier than female cats as a rule, so there's nothing wrong with him being male, you'll see (I have 6 males and one female!).

After 7 months, we just find out that Tabujet is a male cat ..when we pick them up at the farm we told the owner beforehand that we want female kitties..we rely to the owner and we didn't bother

to look really ..beside he is that furry looking and to be honest I don't know much nothing about cat I know sounds dumb but I honestly don't know and Gary didn't care what sex our cat is..Tabujet is very feminine looking, soft and fluffy ..so we didn't care..we don't take them to the vet to neutered them yet..This the first time really that I have cat all my life so I don't know the difference..

Haha, it's hard for a cat to look masculine or feminine - we just interpret it to be a certain way. Only female cats can be black and orange (calico) thats really the only way you can tell by looking at the fur. A lot of people have this happen with cats, because male cats have like...a detractable ####### that pulls inside their body when not in use. So on a kitten it can be hard to tell. When they get older you can see their balls though

I had these online diagrams and was trying to look at their butts - it was very hard to tell! Plus, Bella's demeanor was more like a male cat and Boo's more like a female. Agree with all who have said get him to a vet. At seven months old, he is ready to be neutered. We actually had Calvin done at six months.

And no matter what sex he is, he is beautiful!

Hi Luz,

Adding my voice to the mix - yes, get your cats to the vet this week, especially Trebujet. He will start taking on adult male cat characteristics very soon if he hasn't already- his cheeks will get big, he will start marking his territory, he will become more aggressive and less friendly as his sex drive kicks in. Neutering cats keep them from developing adult cat behaviours, and staying friendly and playful. Has your little girl gone into heat yet? You will know it because she will be crying out and wandering around and trying to get outside. It is not a pleasant time for either owner or cat so you will definitely want to get her fixed ASAP also.

As Mags said, neutered males can be very friendly and affectionate - 3 of mine are males and they are the more social cats of our 5.

He's a very handsome kitty. Getting a MALE cat neutered is MUCH easier than spaying a female (unless both testicles didn't drop, like happened to one of our kitties).

Olli was neutered at 10 weeks! I wouldn't get it done in a PetCo vet (or whatever that Banfield's one is) as I've heard horror stories. But they do need a check-up (among other things) immediately.

Oh Mags, it takes a cat expert like you to know if she or he.. me? all I know is they are cat! ..

Gary make a call and soon make an appointment..Oh my, its so expensive!!!! $185 for him to neutered! We will look for more cheaper vet clinic here!

I notice in last 2-3 weeks his weird play to Bruha..he go on top of her and I told Gary ..he said they almost there ! Now I ask hubby again if its that kind of play make her preggy and he said its not..Tabujet or male cat should not on top, it should be a hrmmm..*cough* catty style ( the version of doggy style ]

No wonder when I give Tabujet some highlights he is so unhappy!

I agree, Alex. Those inoculations are really important too. The diseases they protect the cats against are really nasty, plus by law they HAVE to be inoculated against Rabies too, even if they are in-door only cats. I also agree go to a good, local vet, not PetCo. If you own an animal you will always need a good veterinarian to take care of them, give them check-ups, routine exams and those all important yearly boosters.
