For me I was in contact with them with a change of address so just asked if they had sent it in case it got lost in the redirection, they told me no interview had been assigned yet. I originally went through the contact us form http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html where we send in enquiries if we think something needs fixing or went wrong.

My readiness was submitted on 21st June and medical on the 30th June so like you I'm anxious too but I'm trying to now sit on my hands for at least another two weeks! I've compared my timeline with others too for the UK and I'm definitely still in the line with others and you so like Nich-Nick says, I'm afraid we have nothing to do but sit on our hands being still well with in "processing" time. I don't want to bug them any further as I rather they concentrate on cracking on with the forms!

At least you avoided the TSC nightmare! :)

True that, to everything you said :)

James got his official letter in the mail, Interview scheduled for next week. Might be worth emailing the embassy to those that have been waiting a few weeks so they can make arrangements for work, transportation, child care ect.. ect.... if it is short notice to date of interview.

We were lucky as James was already off on the 24th (not that it would have mattered, he would have worked it out) but we found out the date of interview a week ago by emailing embassy. I guess his letter got held up somewhere.

We emailed twice (no response from the first one) the second time they responded with Interview date and said not to worry about the letter if it doesn't come. We submitted readiness form as soon as he came back from Knightsbridge on the 16th.

I had called NVC last week because our case was last updated on July 2nd (medical was done June 22 and readiness form was submitted June 26). Last week I was told there was no interview date on the case. The date on our case still says July 2nd, so I decided to call again yesterday (I hate waiting). This time NVC told me interview is scheduled for July 27th! As of today still no letter. I am hoping it comes this week. Is the only way to contact the embassy through the contact us link? I submitted that, but it does say it will take up to 5 working days for response.

They are all pretty dreadful you know? ;)

Head over to the federal exchange and see what offers you can get. Honestly though, if you are confident you can get coverage without hassle through your fiancé's insurance once married, you could try not to do anything crazy, dangerous, or remotely risky and hold off until you can get that coverage.

There are companies that offer some sort of travel medical insurance, but I rarely think such things are worth it - afterall, you're staying put, and hopefully not going on some risky skydiving or skiing tour where you might get injured.

I asked this on VJ too but I got a mixed answer, seems some just risk it but I made the same point as you about the driving in Texas! It only takes one accident and suddenly you might have medical bills into the thousands if not more.

As you are no longer resident in the UK you can't get UK insurance so it can only be US policies. Seems you need to search Google for K1 visa insurance, a couple of sites came up in that.

Its easier to use the US version of Google not the UK by using this address www.google.com/ncr the "ncr" part then acts as though you are based in the US. You still get UK sites but the US Sites are prioritized a bit more in the results.

I saw this too which insures non-US Citizens: VJ for some reason won't let me post the URL or the company name not sure why! insu buy is it, maybe they have problems with this company?

I still need to do more research on this as I'm not quite as far in the process as you but hope that helps!
